September 24th was the first snow on top of Storm Peak (10,568ft elevation)here on Steamboat Mountain.
But today September 30th was the first snowfall where I live in town (roughly 7,500ft elevation). I live on the mountain not far from the gondola.
Yesterday I thought to myself…it’s gonna snow tonight. It was rainy, the temperature was dropping and the snow clouds kept getting lower throughout the day. So I made sure to clear the deck off and move the patio furniture to the covered side so I didn’t have to deal with it when more snow fell.
A view from my house looking down over Steamboat. Emerald Mountain on the other side of the valley.
Walking up the stairs to the road, just looking at the Aspens half muddy with fall colors and half covered in snow.
