Riding Journal

Copper 11/22/07

Happy Thanksgiving to my readers 🙂

Today I woke up at 6am to make the trek with Nick to ride Copper. I was bummed when I got there I realized my camera battery was dead and no pictures would be taken except with my camera phone. I also realized that there were tons of one-piece gaper suits…and I missed capturing them on film!

Once there we met up with my friends Amy and John. It was a trek to Copper for 3 runs within 3 hours…give or take a trip into the bar to wait for American Flyer chairlift to open.

The lines were wickedly long and conditions were hard packed groomed with some choppy ice balls near the bottom of American Eagle.

American Flyer wasn’t opened up until 11am so the lift lines were pretty long until then. The run on American Flyer was pretty fun, lots of rollers, less people and patches of powder 🙂 It was a pretty short day since I had to make it back to Steamboat to have dinner with friends this afternoon.

Needless to say…I give thanks for non-lift line days and of course snowboarding!
