Riding Journal

Steamboat 12/15/07

I love weekends cause I get longer riding days but sometimes if you party the night before…it’s hard to make it up early the next day. I managed to make it up by 10am to meet up with Amy to go riding for the day.

She just got her hands on a 07-08 Never Summer Infinity that she is really stoked on!

Amy enjoying nice smoke break in the trees on her infinity.

Today was pretty chilly outside even though it was a bluebird day. I sported my all-time favorite face mask compliments of SIA 2007 and 686. It fits my personality very well and I’m surprised how well it matches my new goggle design. Finally kept my face warm on the mountain.

Myself and Amy with our tongues hanging out!

Made some turns on sundown in the trees which had some pretty heavy powder but still some good turns. A fair amount of rocks and stumps still present in the snow.
We eventually headed over to the lower mountain to make turns with Amy’s brother. It was an awesome day for riding, even though I thought it’d be super packed with tourist season now in effect…the lift lines were pretty mellow most of the day. Thunderhead had no lift lines so I made laps on that after Amy had to take off.

With a good amount of runs and lifts open…the mountain is definitely busy but more spread out which makes it great for riding. Today ended up being nice bluebird sunny day in the boat.
The afternoon was spent riding with Jacob before coming in since it was getting afternoon and I was getting tired. Found my roommate in the Elkhead lift line and we headed down the mountain.
