Riding Journal

Steamboat 2/16/08

It’s a busy weekend here in Steamboat with many tourists in town so today I expected it to be packed on the mountain.

This morning started out with bluebird skies as I met up with Amy for breakfast. By the time we hit up the mountain around 11am, the clouds were rolling in.

I left the girls and met up with Tom to make some laps with him while he’s in town visiting for the weekend.

Sticking the tongues out

Today was the first day to take out the new Never Summer Premier F1. I’ve been riding the Lotus (womens premier) and loving it. Today was such a mixture of conditions so it was great to take it through everything to really test it.

We hit up Pony chair which had no lines and no crowds but visibility was poor. The snow was hard packed groomers and anything off-piste was snow crud. The weather lately has made the snow not too great and even riding in the trees just wasn’t an option.

It started to snow which is great, we definitely need new snow right now.

Ended the day with some pipe runs. The Bashor chair was pretty busy with Nascar course operating and the park was busy as well.
