Riding Journal

Steamboat 2/22/08

Another beautiful day in Steamboat to be out enjoying the sun while snowboarding. Storms are expected to roll through this weekend which will definitely be nice because it has been getting slushy on the mountain lately.

I headed up the gondola to take advantage of the upper mountain. Rode over to sundown and made laps underneath sunshine just cruising along the easy groomers, practicing my riding switch at faster speeds.

Riding alone
It hasn’t snowed in a couple days so you can really see the aspens all over the mountain. I just wish there was 2 feet of snow to ride through them with.
Sunny days mean reflective lenses to block out the light. Also makes for cool photos and shadow effects.

Looking down at the top of the gondola. I hope those storms come in and hit Steamboat tonight!

As I made my way down to lower mountain, hit up the halfpipe for a couple laps. Pretty mellow today but a couple gapers in the pipe stopping at the wrong spots.

Heading up the Bashor chairlift, I used my goggles to show off the view.

As I was heading off the mountain, the Rail Rodeo was just starting. I had to finish work so I didn’t stick around to watch it this time.
