Riding Journal

A-Basin 3/29/08

Now that my week off is coming to an end…it’s definitely more about hanging out with friends and less ride time.

Today caught up on some much needed sleep and didn’t make it to the mountain till the afternoon. Jon and I hit up A-Basin for some end of day shredding.

It was a mixture of clouds and some sunshine

Conditions were rough going up the mountain lift, just super windy and clouds rolling through. We kept waiting for the sun to shine through and luckily it did for a couple runs.

Snapped this photo on the walk over to the bowl with the sun shining down on us

It was our first time checking out Montezuma bowl for both of us so fun to take in the new terrain and check out the lines that people were dropping.

The view from the top of Montezuma Bowl, you can see Keystone runs.

I was really impressed with the new terrain, some great tree runs and steeps to hit up on the bowl. The only bummer is the quad chairlift isn’t a high speed quad.

We only made one lap through the bowl since it closed by the time we got back up to the top. But the one lap definitely showed on a powder day it could be awesome.

Jon cracked me up today, we made it onto the mountain lift when I realized he was only wearing a hoody out…he forgot his jacket in the car. So I snapped this shot for him to show off rocking the hoody.

Making the last lap through the terrain park on the way down to the base.

Now it’s time to head back to Steamboat. Be good to be back home with friends on the mountain.
