After so much research into bindings, I might actually shy away from the Madisons.

1 - The issue with the ankle strap, but 2 - they seem to be a little more flexible than I'd want for my new board. I need something that can let me dig deep on heel and toe carves and it seems the Strut is actually a bit stiffer. Good for all-mountain.

I'm also considering Union (Milan or Trilogy) as a second pair because I am replacing an old pair of Salomon Antidotes. I wasn't a fan of the toe cap always slid off at the worst times :(

I'm going to go back over your Trilogy review too.

2008-2009 model, this years. I owned the 2006-2007, and 2007-2008 models with no issues.

I did re-ride them and you just have to be aware that it'll catch. The 2nd time I rode them, I was aware and just put my finger in the right spot to let the strap tighten easier.

So, is the flaw on the 2008 or 2009 model?

I updated the review after re-trying the bindings again.

This time the ladder would still get stuck in the spot but I knew in advance and would just be more careful when ratcheting the bindings.

Only on the left binding for some reason.

Thanks Quezz for your input on the bindings.

They are amazing bindings and I hope it's something that isn't a warranty issue for Rome. We'll see as more women get on them in the upcoming months.

No, the flaw is real -- I tried a pair of Madisons today, and before I even got the boot in the binding and cranked it good, the pucker Shay is talking about is there. It's too early to tell if the Madisons are going be a warranty nightmare for Rome, but I definitely think corporate needs to look into this.

That being said...these are the most amazing women's bindings on the market, and I will likely get these anyway, despite the flaw. I'm hoping the flaw is largely cosmetic.

I love madisons as well...this was the first pair I had any issues with and it was a demo pair at the 2nd on-snow demo after SIA. I just had an experience and definitely considered it when writing about it and not picking up the madisons this year. I'll demo them again to see how that strap handles again.
