Riding Journal

Copper 3/25/08

It was a late start to getting on the mountain, but eventually made it to Copper to ride. I went with Jon since we have fun together. Jon was taking out the 08-09 Lib Tech McKink while I rode another Never Summer prototype for the day. You might recognize my blue jacket on Jon, he borrowed it for the day while I sported my green jacket.

Riding Copper together

By the time we made it to the mountain, the parking lot was busy but most people were off the mountain.

Jon showing off the mckink steez

It was Jon’s first time riding with magne traction and banana tech. He liked the magne traction for the ice hold and grip but wasn’t sure about the banana tech. I’ll be taking the mckink out this weekend when I get back to Summit county and Steamboat.

I rode the NS prototype

We made laps and took some turns through the greens. Conditions were overcast with hard packed snow and some crusty packed powder in the trees.

Too late to ride the bowl so we just checked it out

Good view at the end of the day
Each run managed to take a run through the superpipe. Caught this photo of Jon riding pipe.

Tomorrow I hit the road to Aspen to ride there for a couple days. Had a good time here in Summit County with friends and glad to have some time off devoted to snowboarding.
