Riding Journal

Steamboat 3/1/08

What a long and fun weekend! I was in Summit County yesterday evening and today but ended up not riding due to conditions. Good day to stay in bed and hang out with friends.

Yesterday I rode Steamboat before taking off. It was a gorgeous day on the mountain.

I stuck to riding halfpipe instead of making laps on groomers. It remained busy most of the late morning and early afternoon.

I’ve been riding the Never Summer Lotus as my halfpipe board, perfect for me since it’s a 157cm and holds such a solid edge. I did notice that I hadn’t adjusted my bindings so I’ve been riding more set back than I would like to be. I’ll adjust those next time I ride pipe so I’m a bit more centered on the board.

My roommate came and took some photos of me which was sweet but also makes me nervous when I know someone is taking photos of me especially in the half pipe. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

This is my “Oh shit!” shot of the day
Ultimately I would like to look like this when I ride pipe…

For some good Sunday pics from Steamboat check out Boardtheboat with some great photos of the conditions over the weekend!
