awesome post! K2 Auto Evers are on the top of my list for next year’s binders =]

How do you think the Autos (in your case the Agogos) compare with the Madisons? Which do you prefer/do you think perform better?

    Thanks!

I found the agogo’s very comparable to the madisons in terms of flex, definitely a more all mountain freestyle binding that you can ride in the park or freeriding. I’m planning to pick up the agogo’s for next year as my main binding. I love my madisons but after seeing the issue with the 08-09 madisons that I had…i’m not 100% sure I’d invest in them if that material is the same.

I had the auto last year and the cable that connects the toe strap to the ankle strap broke after only a month of moderate/easy riding in the northeast. they were super comfortable, light, and responsive. great for all-mountian/freestyle, but unless they upgrade that cable, forget it. I took apart the other binding that hadn’t broke yet to check out that cable, and it was very frayed. only had 3-4 tiny strands of cable left holding it in place. 3 more days and that one whould have broke too. buyer beware

Hey Allen…did you see the K2 Auto binding recall? Sounds like your binding was one of them. Check it out here http://www.k2snowboarding.com/auto/auto_consumer_letter_English.pdf

They fixed these for the 08-09 models.

Hey wuts up! I’m shopping for a new snowboard. I am getting a 2008 Ride Dose. I was wondering what is the best bindings for that particular board. I have a price range of under $100. But i am sure i can shop around now. Thanks!

Hey there. Now is the time to find the deals, I use froogle.com which does a product search of shops. If you want to stick with ride the movement series. Aluminum baseplates aren’t for everyone . For more freestyle bindings with rave reviews, Rome 390’s and K2 Formula’s. Just a couple suggestions.

    Hi Shay,

I’m a beginner snowboarder and was wondering if you could give me some advice on bindings.

I have the old Cinch 05w bindings. And I think I had real trouble on my toe side turns last year because these bindings were so darn heavy on the heel side. But I really loved the ease of the Cinch bindings.

Do you know if the 07/08 Cinch Cameos are as heavy? Or any idea of weight comparison? Thinking about getting those, or possibly this year’s Cinch if I they are reasonable. Or do you recommend getting another line of bindings entirely?

    Thanks!

    Hey Pashmina,

The cinches have gotten lighter each year, but they are definitely heavier than some of the other women’s models. I like the ease as well for them, in terms of light and women’s models the auto agogo’s are easier to get into with the toe strap tightening as you tighten your ankle strap so that’s something to consider.

I’ll see if I can do a weight test on the bindings this year, always interesting to see the weight. But yeah the newer seasons are lighter than previous, just not sure how much exactly.
