Riding Journal

Loveland 10/25/08

I’ve been babying my ankle all week so I could ride, even with some tenderness and swelling still going on.  Luckily a wrapped ankle and some advil helped during snowboarding today.

The easy choice was Loveland; no lines and 2 runs are now open offering up more terrain.
I picked up Tom and we met up with Jay at Loveland.  Jay was kind enough to borrow some Libs for the weekend…so I could get time in on them and give you guys feedback liked you asked.  The boards today were the 157 TRS BTX, 160 Phoenix Lando BTX and 152 GNU B-Pro BTX.  The Travis Rice I skipped out on riding today so another time for that board.

Even with the winds, it was sunny out for the majority of the day.  It had snowed in the week so conditions have improved with a mixture of man-made and natural snow.  The runs are filling in and the mountain shows less rocks on the un-opened terrain.

I’m pretty good at remembering how a board rides especially when it’s a couple in the same day with different sizes and flex…a lot easier to pin point differences but it’s always good to take notes during the day.  I was stoked this year to get the mtnops riding journal to actually write down notes on waterproof paper and the journal and pen fit in my cargo pocket.

Yesterday I got the POW High 5 gloves.  I’ve been waiting since SIA to get these awesome gloves.  Seriously High 5!  I was telling them about how I can wear skinny gloves cause my hands stay warm, even my winter gloves aren’t that thick.  I guess I’m a rare breed of female for that.

I really enjoy trying new boards and my favorite board of the day was the TRS BTX.  I’ll put up a review of it soon.   I am going to try to get more time on them before I put up the review, my riding wasn’t strong today and I should have done more to test out the boards but at the same time I didn’t wanna push my ankle.
Also cool to meet Nate who made it down from Fort Collins and will be helping out at Lib demo’s this year.

Riding down Loveland.  I kind of feel bad for people driving by on I-70 cause you can’t miss the skiers & riders coming down right next to the highway.

Looking forward to tomorrow on snow!

More libs coming up in the next month…probably not the mullet until December if then…that’s a harder board to get on.

Review on the B-pro coming up this week or next week. I liked it, but was a little tough transitioning to it from the bigger sizes I was riding. I’m gonna try to get on it again before putting up the review.
