Riding Journal

Steamboat 2/16/09

There’s one day of the year that I go out snowboarding to remember friends that are no longer on the mountain and that was today. I’m sure they are riding powder somewhere where they have epic powder fields and bluebird days. Someday I’ll join them but for now I’m enjoying snowboarding when I can.

Here’s the video from today’s shredding, mixture of park and pipe. I need to get more footage of me riding but it’s so easy to film the people I ride with.

I managed to hit the snow with my co-worker to take park and pipe laps. I needed someone to give me criticism and push me to step up my game. I wasn’t doing so hot in the superpipe and it was good to ride with someone who was telling me that.
The crowds from Presidents weekend have died down a lot. Yesterday was packed on the mountain and I had hoped that today would be less busy.
Greg the Rockies Flow Rep let me borrow a Flow Team from the demo’s so I could spend some time with it and actually review it more than a couple runs. Today was the first pipe day with it and it kicked my ass.

Drew and I lapped the pipe, then headed over to the Rabbit Ears medium park. I mostly still hit the baby park but there’s some new features in the medium park that are fun so I’m trying to get the nerve to get them. Drew’s been pushing me to step it up and I need that.
