Riding Journal

Steamboat 2/4/09

It’s been a busy week returning back to normal life, catching up on my day job and going out with friends.  I made sure to hit up the mountain today for my typical ride break, good to get away from the computer and enjoy the bluebird skies we’ve been having.  Hasn’t snowed since I got home.

I’ve been needing to get my memory card reformatted for the helmet cam, but haven’t yet (been super busy and of course need to put up the cam review).  I’ll work on those and get them up so there is better filming when I ride.  It’s been me holding the camera while riding which isn’t as fun.  I did a mini film for today, we just lapped groomers.

Perfect day to try out the Ashbury’s
I met up with Stacia, Chad and Russel to make turns with.  Russel is visiting from down under and now he’s part of our crew while he’s here.
For the afternoon we just hit up and went to the slower side of the mountain to charge the groomers.  It’s been quiet in town, less people here right now and you see a lot of people that live here…always refreshing.
Occasionally you have some fun with people who don’t live here, rocking the one-pieces.
Lots of snow sprays as you come down the mountain.  It’s been a mixture of hardpacked groomers to icy groomers in spots with the occasional slush snow spot in the really sunny areas.

Before we ended the day I took a lap through the superpipe, been meaning to ride it more and I will soon.  Also looking forward to riding Keystone next week for the on-snow’s.
Stacia showing why we live here.  Snow and sun!
