The Journey to Utah

I have been meaning to come to Park City, Utah and ride for the last couple years.  It’s not a bad drive and I know people there so I have no excuse not to visit.  I finally set a date and actually came out to Utah finally.
Originally my buddy K was going to come along for the adventure, but he lamed out which meant me finding someone else to keep me company for the journey.  Zac from Hybrid Sessions has been living out of his car so he was up for the journey and at the last moment my co-worker decided he should visit his booty call in Park City.
It’s a 5 hour drive from Steamboat Springs to Park City, long enough to need company and short enough that I should make the drive at least once a year.  We left after work so it was getting dark on the drive.
We packed up the vehicles in Steamboat, with a variety of boards

Zac and myself looking nuts and Drew hiding behind the seat

I’m going to say this…but it was like animal kingdom/animals strike back on the drive to Park City.  The deer were just waiting on the side of the road, waiting for their moment of suicidal dreams.  During one very close call, I got a email on my phone so I picked it up and looked at it…then looked at the road, in the road right in front of the truck was a deer standing there.  I managed to brake and avoid it by an inch.  I thought I was gonna clip it’s legs for sure.  Luckily I saved my truck from damage, didn’t kill my passengers and the deer lived for probably another hour before someone else hit it.

That being said, we made it to Park City.  Today we shred Park City and this weekend the Canyons!

You probably have your own hookups for lift tickets, but thought this site would be of interest: http://www.liftopia.com/

Zac is a very pretty person.

Thanks Forrest, I will just be sticking in Park City this trip, but I’ve heard good things about there definitely need to take more time to come out to Utah next year.

Thanks DC, my friend Steph hooked it up this year but that’s a good site to know about!
