15 Apr, 2009

Pretty soon I’ll be pulling out my passport to make my way to Whistler for the Telus Festival and Grenade Games coming up next week! Here’s a look at who else will be in town and competing!

Grenade Games 5 Lineup announced!

Whistler, BC – April 14, 2009 –Grenade, a worldwide leader in action sports, and Monster Energy have joined forces to bring the Grenade Games to Canada. After 14 years of blowing minds, earlobes and livers, the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival is rolling out the tie-dye carpet for a truly international all-star snowboard lineup. The royalty, the underdogs, heroes and villains, rookies and legends will converge at the confluence of mountain snow and Whistler Village bricks and mortar to compete in the unique Grenade Games snowboard event from April 20-26, 2009.

Traditionally the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival has attracted high performance athletes but with the inclusion of Grenade Games the injection of incredibly credible talent is exceptional and a rarity at Canadian events. Athletes Danny Kass, Danny Davis, Iikka Backstrom, Hana Beaman, Jamie Anderson, Leanne Pelosi, and Marie-France Roy will be bringing their Olympic, X Games and US Open pedigrees to town. Access to this caliber of rider was possible through the collaboration of Monster Energy with the grass roots Grenade Games snowboard event. Monster Athletes Marc Frank Montoya, Louie Vito and Eero Neimela will be in town to throw down too, so get ready to bear witness.

Monster Energy and Grenade Gloves are ready to put the “EH” in the Gren(eh)de Games. There is the Poker Run, the Dual Slalom Moguls Event, Grenade Superpipe, mini ramp skate sessions, the soon to be legendary Monster Grand Finale, and nightly parties to consume each hour of each day. With so many events and so much talent and personalities on a geographic pinhead; the best week of the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival is primed to go off like a… grenade.
