With Whistler having the on-snow demos, we hit up the mountain today to ride Whistler and partake in some 09-10 demos. Conditions on the mountain have been very icy in the mornings but getting slushy by the afternoon with the sun out each day.
Today’s demos included more companies and I ended up riding 4 snowboards today: Salomon Ivy, Atomic Pivot, Drake DF2 and Prior AMF rocker.
We had a lot of fun with Kendra riding the Stepchild Mustache Rider…a little too much fun with that board.
As the afternoon was underway met up with Dennis, a friend from Stevens Pass who came up for the Telus Festival weekend. He is in love with his Lib TRS so he chose not to ride any other boards during the day.
Tonight in the village is the Grenade Games Big Air which I’ll be taking photos and writing about.

Are you going to post some reviews about those boards you tried out ? I’m actually interested in the Prior AMF Rocker, was it a nice ride ?

haha yeah Alison the board is super fun to be around. I got video I need to edit and put up.
All of the boards will be in reviews soon…just gonna get settled and finish up other stuff before putting them up. Marc loved the AMF rocker, I was eh on it.

Hey shay!
Did Kendra ever mention if she liked the moustache rider or not? It seems like there’s just no reviews on it & I was looking at picking one up this year.

Hey Ashley,
She did like the moustache rider after she rode it. I’ll see if she can come comment on here about how she liked it.

Hey Ashley,
I did like the moustache rider – and not just because of the awesome name. It was light and super responsive, poppy without kicking me off it. Fairly stiff, but not stupidly so. It held an edge well, didn’t get wobbly or chattery at higher speeds. I demoed it in a 149 with my Ride Dva bindings, and the Stepchild guys had fun making fun of my angles (I ride 33/-21) as they were setting it up. The first run I just took it down some groomers to get a feel for how fast it would go. Next run I took it through the trees to see how it handled quick turns. It handled both really well, and I could’ve taken it home with me right there if they didn’t have my credit card at the Stepchild booth… All in all, it was a really fun ride. If I was in the market for a new board this year, it would be at the top of my list. Just ask Shay… I was smiling the whole time I was riding it!
Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, let me know!

She was smiling the whole time and we kept laughing on the mustache rider graphics and name. I wished they had it in a bigger size for me to ride…
