Cold Cut Trio
21 Jun, 2009
Earlier this season I met Xavier who was back on the mountain after wrecking his tib/fib while filming, it blew me away at his riding skill and his effort to come back strong like he never missed a day (let alone the whole season) of riding. His tight pants, long flowing hair and style on the rails was captured in every image at the end of the season and I found I could trust getting close to the rails to take photos of him on the rails. From Xavier’s crew, I met Zach who I photographed in the A-Basin rail sessions and found out that they had spent this winter putting together their own film production and worked hard to create their own snowboard film.
Last month I saw the teaser for the first time and saw that shayboarder.com is in the opening credits of the film. Smart kids and I definitely back them not only cause I’m in the credits but because these kids are generous, humble, happy and make snowboarding something that isn’t about proving your better, but about progressing your own riding. Progressing through injuries, through bad falls, bad days and still coming out on the snow to strap in and try again.
Yes! We Can Productions is Zach Holub, Xavier Rojas and Jonny Zakett. They just like to snowboard and have fun, and have fun snowboarding. This years film is Cold Cut Trio and it’s free to download, check out and see some CO young riders taking their skills to the snow. Here’s the teaser for the Cold Cut Trio film and you can download the film here. It doesn’t take long to download it.
