Shay’s Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays are just around the corner which means for all of us snowboarders it’s the perfect time to start shopping for those gifts that would make those special snowboarders in our lives happy and make us happy without having to break our bank accounts.

I put together 12 gift ideas under $50  that are out on the market this year (not in the discount bin) and gifts that range for the female shredder to the male shredder, from your buddy you drink with to the buddy you sleep with.

Rome Pint Glass or Shot Glass

$14.00/$7.00

[singlepic id=6910 w=313 h=200 float=]

Its the gift that keeps on giving.  The Pint glass might get you slapped but the shot glass will get you far and possibly not slapped in that way.

Bluebird Wax

$12.50

[singlepic id=6914 w=200 h=200 float=]

It’s the holidays which means it’s time to support Willie since it gets cold in Jackson Hole and he’s cranking away on wax while we’re snowboarding.  Between the All-Temp, Cold-Temp and Soy Wax…there’s something for everyone.

Pom Pom Rub-on Wax

$12.99

[singlepic id=6917 w=200 h=200 float=]

In case you are like me and forget to wax your board, having rub on wax handy is just a bonus to the season.  Plus it’s a great stocking stuffer.

Neff Downs Beanie

$19.95

[singlepic id=6913 w=200 h=200 float=]

This beanie has yet to leave my head this winter and with a closet full of beanies thats definitely a plus to how much I like this one.  It’s simple in the design but comes in bright colors that spice it up. I find it warm enough for snowy days and I love it too much to remove it on the warm days.

Smartwool Snowboard Socks

$21.95

[singlepic id=6920 w=200 h=200 float=]

Every snowboarder needs snowboard socks, it beats having to ever turn to cotton socks in our drawer and freaking out.  So make sure your friends have snowboard socks and Smartwool does a good job of keeping your feet warm and dry on the mountain.

Capita Screen Prints – Capita Space Metal Fantasy

$25.00

[singlepic id=6919 w=200 h=271 float=]

Capita does a fine job with their screen prints they sell through the C3 shop, bringing your favorite Capita graphics to life at home on your walls.  I have a couple on my walls and it’s a perfect gift for a Capita fan.

Casual Industrees Chairlift T-shirt

$26.00

[singlepic id=6918 w=200 h=286 float=]

It’s my favorite company out of the Northwest and pure shredders at heart they keep their designs simple with what we all stay happy with, chairlift rides.  Plus the t-shirts are super comfortable.

Spacecraft I Ride Wallet

$29.95

[singlepic id=6911 w=200 h=200 float=]

The only wallet I’ll continue to own is Spacecraft wallets, the art and fun they create is featured on the wallets and you can’t go wrong with the I ride you work wallet, unless you are the worker not the rider of course.

Grenade Isshoes

$29.95

[singlepic id=4814 w=300 h=177 float=]

For some reason these disappeared from the Grenade store but I must say these were the best purchase for me this year, $29 shoes that support a snowboard company (that also does shoes).  They are comfortable and they’ve lasted since May in great shape so no complaints other than now where do you buy them if the Grenade store doesn’t have them.

Arbor Bamboo Hoot Scarf

$38.00

[singlepic id=6912 w=200 h=246 float=]

For those closer to nature, it’s the Arbor way or the highway and their softgoods have the bamboo touch.  I personally like the scarves (the belts are rad too) especially the owl one since owls make hoot noises.

Burton 100 Day Belt

$49.95

[singlepic id=6915 w=200 h=200 float=]

Every snowboarder needs a belt and as friends we should definitely offer belts to those snowboarders when we see their asscracks on the mountain because that’s what friends are there for…offering belts or pushing snow down them.  The 100 day belt lets you count your days and not have snow down your ass.

Itunes Gift Cards

$15+

[singlepic id=6916 w=200 h=200 float=]

It’s the easiest gift to acquire and give out, but it also means giving a snowboard film or music that they could shred to (the legal way).  With Absinthe and Forum films on itunes, there’s no reason not to be stoked for this gift card gift.

Fes, great question. I asked Anna at Rome a while ago about which shops ordered those pint glasses to sell and she said:

    Darkside: http://www.darksidesnowboards.com/store/
    Eternal: http://www.eternalsnow.com/

I would call and check those shops to see when you can get them.

Elias, here’s a link to shreddingbetty, they have a good selection of Pom Pom products in store.

Hey Shay, are there any stores that sell casualindustrees shirts?

Alex, me too! Itunes gift cards rock since I tend to buy a snowboard movie copy for home plus buy it on itunes so I can have it on my ipod when i’m working out. Nothing beats working out to snowboard movies.

Kyle, the whole list of stores is here, I’ve purchased casual from evo in the past or directly from their online store.

Surprisingly every single online for Rome is out of them.
I did contact them after posting here and Ron Faverty from Rome got back to me and said that Daddies Board Shop in Portland carries them so I ordered through there.

    Link if anyone is interested…

Yeah, every year Absinthe, Standard Films, Forum, Transworld, and Burton put their videos on iTunes. And they are like 1/2 the price of their DVD’s.
