Smokin Snowboards 2010-2011

February 11th, 2010

Smokin Snowboards comes out of the smoke each year with a solid line of snowboards handmade in Lake Tahoe and with no problem speaking their mind about the direction of snowboarding.  They’ve introduced a couple new models for 2010-2011 including a new women’s model, all with different options for rocker/camber.

For 2010-2011, Smokin has a mix of camber/rocker technology with traditional camber, DIRT Rocker (flat binding to binding, rocker binding to tips), Clash Rocker (positive camber outside the bindings, rockered between the bindings) and Anti Rocker (completely flat throughout the entire effective edge).  They’ll be offering a 3 year warranty on all of their snowboards and introducing the bummer replacement program to help support the rippers who support them which “entitles any customers with a non-warrantable issue to replace their snowboard at cost for the duration of their 3 year warranty.”

I rode this years KT-22 166W DTX for 6 days straight in various conditions and I totally loved it. The board could handle everything and really excelled in powder and powerful carving on groomers.

I got a bunch of 10-11 samples last week and the boards look awesome.
