Riding Journal

Steamboat 2/14/10

After spending a lazy Saturday off the mountain, today was a great sunday to be on the mountain.  I met up with my friend Amy for breakfast before hitting up the mountain.  It was ideal and the best part about being single this Valentine’s Day is just enjoying the shred, riding with whoever I ran into and having fun snowboarding.

During a CMC presentation I was able to meet Brent who helps out with Ellis Snowboards so today I met up with him to ride and try out the 10-11 Ellis Street snowboard for a couple laps.

After returning the demo I ran into a couple of the boys (Eric, Sean and Craig) about to take up snowskates for a run.  It was hard to resist a fun gondola ride with them and watching them on the snowskates.  Plus Sean forgot his helmet so we switched and I wore his beanie for the run.

Snowskating is a blast but very humbling.  I ended up trading with Eric, he rode the harder stuff and I rode the easier terrain switching the snowskate for my board.  It was easier for me to turn heelside and eventually I got toeside turns but it didn’t look pretty.

Definitely ended on a fun note with shredding, bluebird skies and trying to snowskate…I had some great crashes but always up for more!

One of my friends tried out snowskating earlier this season as well, looked hilarious to me! 😀

Good to hear you’re feeling better, btw!

haha Nana I was laughing at them when I first started down the run…I stopped laughing when I was on it eating shit myself. Still a blast though! It’s great to be feeling better, had a rough cough that put me to sleep so much the last 2 weeks.
