Timberline & Windells Camp 6/20/10

So far the summer of snowboarding has been hit or miss with weather and today was another winter weather kind of day on the mountain.  It started out with blue skies that you thought would come out but they ended up hiding away in the clouds by the end of the morning.

I woke up early for breakfast, carpooled up to the mountain with Dania and headed inside the day lodge to find Paul’s group who I would be tagging along with for the day.  Since it was Father’s Day, I wanted to follow Tom who is a snowboarder here at camp with his son Luke who is a skier.  It worked out perfectly and we got some shots of them today progressing on the small jumps and both of them were campers of the day.

I ended up lapping park working on my own riding for a couple runs through Windells, doing the mini features and longer up down box.  It was a good day but eventually the cold wind and weather got to me.

It’s been great to be at camp and recognize people who follow shayboarder, today I spent some time with Deepak who I know as Deciblast online.  I snapped some shots of him in the park as we made our way down the mountain.

The raddest part of the day was in the parking lot where as I was about to drive away, I ended up recognizing a familiar face of Pat Bridges editor at Snowboarder Magazine so I stopped the truck and ran up to say hi.  He was there with Pat Moore and got to talk to those two for a couple minutes before heading down the slopes.  What a great way to end the day of shred seeing those two!
