It’s hard to believe its only November when the entire mountain is open and it seems like every week there is a new storm arriving delivering up another powder day to be enjoyed. Last night was the Standard Films “Stormin” premiere in Mammoth so we rallied some people, hit up the film and partied afterwards in the village. It was a fun night but also meant a late start today for me. Luckily I like lazy sundays when you get to the slopes just as everyone is heading out of town and parking is one row from the chairlift.
I finally got the chance to shred with Pat Stahl which worked out perfectly so we could meet up and get in some turns with his friends from the USC house. For the first couple laps Pat was snowboarding but then switched it up to skis (and switched outerwear too).
Pat totally has skiing down…even the moves
The first lap we headed up the gondola to get in some turns up top. Dropped into Climax to warm up the legs and then ended up heading over the backside of the mountain which I loved. I absolutely loved the lifts, the terrain and the tree runs. There were some good pow spots, steeps and trees to be ridden through. Totally had a blast cruising each run with the guys there.

Such a good day. I feel incredibly lucky to have days like this in my life. Powder, trees, snowboarding and people to enjoy it with.

Those are some great pics! In November no less. I’ve never been down to California to board, but it looks like its one of the sickest spots to shred.
I came across a pretty cool boarding and skiing article. It listed off the top 11 snow resorts for the Snowboard season. It’s even got some cool vids on their as well. Lemme know what you think and if you’ve been to any of these (I’d love to get to at least one this season).
You got any other mountains you can add to the list?
Cheers,
Jammer

Jammer, it’s better than the pics show
Mammoth so far has been amazing to ride and has some great terrain.
On that list, I’ve been to: Baker, Whistler, Park City, Brighton, Snowbird, Canyons. All solid mountains. Others I’d add Mt Bachelor, Stevens Pass, Silverton off the top of my head. Mammoth is good too.
