I can’t believe it’s already March. Despite the winter season coming to an end, I have to remind myself that living in Mammoth means a longer season like possibly till July and no complaints on that!
Right now the Grand Prix is in Mammoth which means this week is practice runs until the qualifiers and finals in the pipe and slopestyle at the end of the week. This morning I picked up my media pass so I could be on hand for the finals, getting to write about it on shayboarder.com and being able to check out all the fun on the slopes. It’ll be a fun week with the athletes and industry in town plus a free concert in the village to wrap it up.

Usually I take lunch laps but today I hit the slopes early with the skier for cruisers and park runs. I might be a snowboarder but I still appreciate good people to make laps with regardless of what’s underneath their feet.
We ended up going to South Park and hitting Jibs Galore which is exactly like the name. Since the skier has had some knee issues, he’s been focusing on rails and not jumping till his knee is good. Which works for me since I’m not hitting Main Park jump line anytime soon.

Ended the morning with some good laps in and headed back into work. Definitely ready for all the events this week and can’t wait to blog about them!
