Facemask Friday: Pom Pom

When it comes to keeping your face warm on the mountain, facemasks do the job.  On the deep powder days, they keep you from breathing in the snow.  On the sunny days, they keep you from getting burnt.  On windy days, they keep your face from going numb.  Gone are the days that you have to wear a basic black mask and look like a bank robber, now plenty of companies offer bandanas, tubes, balaclava’s in an assortment of designs and colors.

Check back every Friday I’ll be giving away a facemask in a different brand/design/style.  To enter the contest, read the directions below and leave your comment by midnight tonight.  I’ll announce the winner in this post tomorrow morning.

About the Facemask:

Polartec® Fleece lined neck tube with moisture wicking nylon-spandex exterior. Perfect for colder days. Lime green exterior with black fleece liner.

Steps to win the Pom-Pom Facemask:

1.  Answer this question in your comment (make sure to use your correct email address):  Do you snowboard on major holidays or avoid the mountains?

2.  You have till midnight tonight, December 15  to enter for this facemask.

3.  All the answer comments will be written down and a winner will be randomly drawn from a bowl or kitchen pot ( you know like the lottery).

4.  A winner will be announced in this blog post after midnight.  I like to sleep so I will probably will pick a winner tomorrow morning.

Thanks to Pom-Pom for being part of Facemask Friday!

We snowboard on NYE. There is a local place that keeps their lifts open until the 12am countdown!

Hell yes I ride. It’s one of the best days of the year. Place doesn’t get busy until noon, as everyone is doing their holiday crap. Even after then, they are all families so the bar is completely empty!

Christmas Day has been one of my favorite days to ski in the past. One year I rode Taos on Christmas Day and it snowed hard all day long. It was a perfect powder day and a great memory 🙂

I ride during the holidays, for sure! If the lift lines are too big we just spend the day building a kicker or hiking lines. You always meet some interesting characters on the lift during the holidays as well!

I try to avoid the holiday rush to the ski areas. I tend to go the week before. It’s much quieter and nicer. Week before Christmas is the best time to ski or ride!
