Facemask Friday: Airhole

When it comes to keeping your face warm on the mountain, facemasks do the job.  On the deep powder days, they keep you from breathing in the snow.  On the sunny days, they keep you from getting burnt.  On windy days, they keep your face from going numb.  Gone are the days that you have to wear a basic black mask and look like a bank robber, now plenty of companies offer bandanas, tubes, balaclava’s in an assortment of designs and colors.

Check back every Friday I’ll be giving away a facemask in a different brand/design/style.  To enter the contest, read the directions below and leave your comment by midnight tonight.  I’ll announce the winner in this post tomorrow morning.

This Airhole Facemask (seen on right) features Airhole’s signature design that eliminates condensation on the inside of your facemask and fogging of your goggles. The one large airhole at your mouth opening makes inhaling and exhaling easy as if you weren’t wearing a mask at all.  The airhole also acts as a hydration point, allowing you to drink through camel packs or water bottles.

Steps to win the Airhole Facemask:

1.  Answer this question in your comment (make sure to use your correct email address): When was the last time it snowed near you?

2.  You have till midnight tonight, January 12 to enter for this facemask.

3.  All the comments will be written down and one winner will be randomly drawn from a bowl or kitchen pot ( you know like the lottery).

4.  A winner will be announced in this blog post after midnight.  I like to sleep so I will probably will pick a winner tomorrow morning.

Thanks to Airhole for being part of Facemask Friday!

I’m in Park City with some friends at the moment. Had our trip planned months in advance so we had to come ride. It looks like a desert on half of the mountain! We’re staying positive even though there won’t be more snow after last Saturday’s 2 inches.

Actually, it just snowed 2 nights ago & hadn’t in about a month & a half or so. The 1st one wasn’t even enough to cover the grass but the worst part was, was the temperature immediately shot up into the 40s the very next day & then it rained like the next 2 to 3 days on top of it. Obviously, it was all gone within a day or 2. Any way, we got about 4 inches here in IA & it’s still not really enough to completely cover the grass everywhere, but it’s enough to slide on, & the temperature’s gonna’ stay low enough for the most part so it should stay here for awhile. I don’t see any more snow in the next 5 days’ forecast, but hopefully it should come soon again. It’s definitely time to get out the jib board & go have some fun! I would’ve yesterday but the winds were like 20-30 mph with gusts of 40 at times. Anyway, later! : )
