Shay Update: Colorado + SIA!
24 Jan, 2012
Hard to believe it’s that time of year but things are about to get crazy in Colorado! For the next 10 days I’ll be on the road, in the tradeshow for four days, on the snow demos for two days and finally relaxing towards the end of the trip.
I’ll be attending the SIA Tradeshow as media for Shayboarder.com. Over the next couple days you’ll see a lot of 2013 gear, twitter updates (@Shayboarder), instagram photos (Shayboarder), Facebook Updates (/Shayboarder) and a whole lotta fun in the process.
After the tradeshow, I’ll immediately head into the mountains for the on-snow portion at Winter Park then on a mini vacation roadtrip. After I get back in Washington, I’ll start the constant updates from SIA with product information and 2012 reviews.
Here’s what is coming up for the next 10 days!
SIA Tradeshow in Denver
Watch out Denver, the snowboard and ski industry is coming to Colorado! The SIA Tradeshow is an industry event where the next year’s gear is released. A ton of ski and snowboard companies will be displaying their 2013 gear for industry buyers and media this week. It all kicks off on Thursday and ends Sunday. Plus each evening there are parties to attend, the Transworld Riders Poll Awards and a ton of friends are in town for it.
SIA On-Snow at Winter Park
After four days of seeing the 2013 gear at SIA, it’s time to check it out on the slopes! This is my favorite event on the slopes because you have so many companies within reach and demo’ing all day means you get to try out a huge variety of gear. I’ll be able to try out the latest snowboards, bindings, helmets, goggles and make laps with some awesome people during the two days on the slopes at Winter Park.
Vail Cascade Resort and Spa at Vail Resort
After the hustle and bustle of SIA dies town, we’re making our way over to Vail Colorado for a couple days of relaxing, riding and retreating. My mom is joining me for a stay at the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa in Vail, Colorado for this part of the journey. We’ll get a day on the slopes at Vail and some much needed relaxing around town. Really excited about spending the time in Vail, bringing my mom along for a quiet vacation and holing up at a great spot.
Then it’s back to Washington State where I’ll be figuring out my next move and hopefully lots of travels in the works.
