SIA 2013: Day 3
04 Feb, 2013
After an evening at the Riders Poll, day 3 was a good day to sleep in and hit the tradeshow floor ready to check out more gear. Day 3 was also a day to get in last rounds, hang out with friends and run into more friends around the show. Looking back on the show, I definitely liked the more relaxing feel this year and being able to check out brands without being rushed to see everything. To end the tradeshow, I ended getting another tattoo thanks to the crew at Arnette. Check out the pics below.
My morning started with Ride to check out the latest in outerwear, bindings, boards, boots and many more. Here is Hana Beaman’s setup for 13/14.
Pretty rad to see Venture Snowboards expand out the collection with a Skylar Holgate designed board.
Roxy Snowboards looking great for 13/14
Willie McMillion with Bluebird Wine
K2 Splitboards for 13/14 include a women’s splitboard.
One of the biggest comebacks was in the K2 booth where clickers are back. This time they are designed for quick access with the splitboard setup.
Flow bindings and boots
Holden and Stance collab on a sock collection
Adidas Jake Blauvelt snowboard boots
Pow Gloves Shocker style
Oakley Gretchen Bleiler setup
When I found out that Arnette was going to be doing beats, brews and tattoos again I was pretty stoked especially to hear it was the same tattoo artist and that I could get in to get more ink. I had considered adding more to last year’s tattoo but decided on permanently marking shayboarder as who I am and part of my journey in life.
My friend Delaney had designed a Shayboarder logo earlier this year so I used the portion of the mountain with the S on it for my tattoo. Huge props to Arnette, Jason and Trent for snapping the photos of it.
One of the funniest things is seeing the snowboard photos on the non-snowboard side of the tradeshow. We stopped to check them out on the way out of the show and ran into the Good Ride guys for a couple shots of Jameson and good laughs.
