Keystone 11/7/12

Early mornings on the mountain are worth it. Even if you go out to dinner the night before with the Transworld Snowboarding crew and don't make it home till midnight. It's still worth it. Even with groomers. I woke up early on Wednesday to head up to get some shots for social media. No complaints when the sun is shining, snow is on the ground and the groomers did an amazing corduroy grooming job on the mountain. Sho...

Enter to Win Jeremy Jones "Further"

One of my favorite films this year is most definitely Teton Gravity Research + Jeremy Jones "Further." It's very clear how devoted and dedicated Jeremy Jones and his crew are to snowboarding and venturing into the unknown. They live their lives to truly bring snowboarding to the next level and it shows in the Deeper, Further, Higher films. Deeper set the example, Further steps beyond it and we can only dream of where...

Keystone 11/5/12

After a busy Opening Weekend, a relaxing Monday on the slopes was perfect. I headed up with the skier to make park laps with him and get back into the swing of winter. The A51 terrain park has about 25 features up right now and a whole line of box features for those seeking a more mellow terrain park line. Lower park shot [singlepic id=14675 w=500 h=333 float=] Starting this season out on the Arbor Swoon (which I ...

Back to the Grind Rail Jam 11-3-12

Almost two months ago, I arrived in Colorado just in time to watch the first Rail Jam of the season and for Opening Weekend I got to help out at the second rail jam of the season. Last time I was meeting future co-workers and this time I was helping them out. I loaded up the camera and headed out to watch the action and share it on social media for Keystone. [singlepic id=14668 w=500 h=333 float=] The setup was a f...

Keystone Opening Day 11/2/12

While Loveland and A-Basin raced to open and started turning lifts in October, I've been busy preparing and waiting for the Opening of Keystone in Colorado. Yesterday we got to sample the goods before the public did which was a great start to the season and today I was on the mountain working to capture the Opening Day experience through social media. Thanks to a coffee on the way to work, I was wide awake at 6am ...

Goggle Review: Arnette Series 3

Intended Purpose: The Series 3 goggles deliver vision, comfort and goggle technology that makes your mountain experience better. Color: I received the Series 3 goggles in the powder blue colorway which are definitely powder blue but with the lens...

Gearing up for the season: 686

After I viewed the 2012/2013 winter outerwear line-up at SIA in January, I had to select what gear I would be rocking this season. It was a tough choice merely because I had absolutely no idea where I would be spending the 2012/2013 season at the time. In case I was in the Northwest, I needed enough waterproofing and in case I was back in Colorado, I needed enough warmth. I ended up picking two jackets that met both ...

Facemask Friday: Phunkshun

When it comes to keeping your face warm on the mountain, facemasks do the job. On the deep powder days, they keep you from breathing in the snow. On the sunny days, they keep you from getting burnt. On windy days, they keep your face from going numb. Gone are the days that you have to wear a basic black mask and look like a bank robber, now plenty of companies offer bandanas, tubes, balaclava’s in an assortment of ...
