Keystone 11/7/12

Early mornings on the mountain are worth it. Even if you go out to dinner the night before with the Transworld Snowboarding crew and don't make it home till midnight. It's still worth it. Even with groomers. I woke up early on Wednesday to head up to get some shots for social media. No complaints when the sun is shining, snow is on the ground and the groomers did an amazing corduroy grooming job on the mountain. Sho...

Keystone 11/5/12

After a busy Opening Weekend, a relaxing Monday on the slopes was perfect. I headed up with the skier to make park laps with him and get back into the swing of winter. The A51 terrain park has about 25 features up right now and a whole line of box features for those seeking a more mellow terrain park line. Lower park shot [singlepic id=14675 w=500 h=333 float=] Starting this season out on the Arbor Swoon (which I ...

Keystone Opening Day 11/2/12

While Loveland and A-Basin raced to open and started turning lifts in October, I've been busy preparing and waiting for the Opening of Keystone in Colorado. Yesterday we got to sample the goods before the public did which was a great start to the season and today I was on the mountain working to capture the Opening Day experience through social media. Thanks to a coffee on the way to work, I was wide awake at 6am ...

Downhill Mountain Biking Takes Over Summer

I remember the moment when I told myself downhill mountain biking was not for me. I was standing in the base of Whistler Village many summers ago as I watched the mountain bikers walking by with monstrous expensive bikes, full face helmets and padding covered in dirt. I could see the features, the drops and the berms from the base that they were riding. I was floored. I realized that that downhill mountain biking was...

Keystone Bike Park 9/16/12

Yesterday was about kicking off winter with the Keystone Rail Jam but today was about finishing off the Bike Park closing day. I was pretty amped to get on the dirt, ride the trails and start to familarize myself with the Bike Park at Keystone. It felt great to finally be riding my new Norco Aurum that took me all summer to pay off but now it's finally mine! Before today I had only seen this view covered in snow [s...

Whistler Bike Park & Women's Bike Clinic 8/27/12

I might have missed Crankworx but I didn't wanna miss out on getting more laps in the Whistler Bike Park and experiencing one more women's clinic night. Since I had been traveling through Vancouver so many times this summer, it was the perfect opportunity to come ride Bike Park and do a Vancouver twitter scavenger hunt on Wednesday. Since today would be a full evening of bike park with the women's clinic, Carrie and...

Stevens Bike Park 8/17/12

After spending the last couple weeks in California, it was good to come back home to the sunny northwest and hit the trails at Stevens Pass Bike Park. A lot has changed since I was up in July, both trails are now fully top to bottom with tons of features jam packed into them. [singlepic id=14531 w=500 h=375 float=] I met up with Dennis to spend the early afternoon lapping the bike park. It was good to have a riding...

Northstar Bike Park 8/2/12

After spending Tuesday in the Bike Park with the bumps and bends clinic, today was about getting back on the same trails and motivating myself to continue to conquer them while working on my riding. Conditions were dry and sunny but the breeze up and down on the ride were perfect for mountain biking. I started out on Live Wire, then headed over to Gypsy for a couple laps and ended the day on easier Coaster and Easy R...

Northstar Bike Park 7/31/12

What a difference a resort looks like in the winter and the summer. In January I was lapping snow covered trails (even got a couple powder days) and here I am in July riding different trails on the same terrain at Northstar Resort. From boots to bike pads. Once I knew I'd be spending time in Lake Tahoe, I made sure to arrange a visit to ride Northstar's Bike Park. It's been fun to ride new terrain and really test my ...

Timberline + Windells Camp 7/19/12

Today was a good day. The day that everything starts to come back that you forgot, the day that you have a good crew to ride with and the day that snowboarding is fun. My snowboard legs started to come back, making today a lot more comfortable on the boxes and back on the board. We ended up having our group of girls lapping the park today. It was Michelle, Angela, myself, Caitlin and Taylor lapping the box section o...
