Snowboarding

Keystone 11/8/12

Usually I would have spent my Thursday in the office with maybe a lap or two on the mountain but this week was the Burton Super Clinic so I spent Thursday morning in discussions and the afternoon on the snow. It was good to see familiar faces like Rasmus from Chuckbuddies, Hargrave from Woodward and Scott and Nelson from Steamboat. The afternoon was perfect for laps and discussing the Burton programs. We headed up...

Keystone 11/7/12

Early mornings on the mountain are worth it. Even if you go out to dinner the night before with the Transworld Snowboarding crew and don't make it home till midnight. It's still worth it. Even with groomers. I woke up early on Wednesday to head up to get some shots for social media. No complaints when the sun is shining, snow is on the ground and the groomers did an amazing corduroy grooming job on the mountain. Sho...

Keystone 11/5/12

After a busy Opening Weekend, a relaxing Monday on the slopes was perfect. I headed up with the skier to make park laps with him and get back into the swing of winter. The A51 terrain park has about 25 features up right now and a whole line of box features for those seeking a more mellow terrain park line. Lower park shot [singlepic id=14675 w=500 h=333 float=] Starting this season out on the Arbor Swoon (which I ...

Keystone Opening Day 11/2/12

While Loveland and A-Basin raced to open and started turning lifts in October, I've been busy preparing and waiting for the Opening of Keystone in Colorado. Yesterday we got to sample the goods before the public did which was a great start to the season and today I was on the mountain working to capture the Opening Day experience through social media. Thanks to a coffee on the way to work, I was wide awake at 6am ...

Timberline + Windells Camp 7/19/12

Today was a good day. The day that everything starts to come back that you forgot, the day that you have a good crew to ride with and the day that snowboarding is fun. My snowboard legs started to come back, making today a lot more comfortable on the boxes and back on the board. We ended up having our group of girls lapping the park today. It was Michelle, Angela, myself, Caitlin and Taylor lapping the box section o...

Timberline 7/18/12

After spending the last couple weeks mountain biking, I finally planned a trip to visit Mt Hood for some much needed shred time. For those seeking summer snowboarding in the US, Timberline Lodge has it and there are two popular summer camps that offer fun private parks for your enjoyment. The northwest had a good winter which means an awesome summer for park building on the glacier. Arriving back at Mt Hood in the...

Stevens Pass 5/17/12

I thought I had closed out Stevens Pass for the season when Closing Day went down on May 6 but turns out, the snow is still there and it's too hard to resist playing on it. The mountain looked as if Closing Day never happened, there are few rock spots and still a ton of snow leftover from this winter. My buddy Nate just returned to the area after a winter in Utah and mentioned heading up for a hike/jib session. I ...

Snowboarder Magazine Superpark 16: Day 5

As Superpark was starting the wind down, the vibe was changing on the mountain to a much more relaxed, shred, have fun and get the last shots/filming done. Most of the riders who weren't wrecked or hungover, took to the slopes to get their final shots. The day went by quickly and it wasn't long before the runs were quiet. The 100 footer at the base has been noticeably popular and constantly with a range of riders ...

Superpark has been going strong all week long with daily shred stoke, massive features and tons of invited pros that make everything look easy. Day 4 was a long day for many riders as the week was starting to catch up but those willing to keep upping the stakes proved it with another day of massive hits. Snowboarder Magazine Superpark 16: Day 3

Superpark 16 is well underway at Mt Bachelor with invited pros, massive features and plenty of action going on around the mountain. Day three continued with the trend of riders going big, bigger and getting creative. With the help of four parks: Mt Bachelor, OR, Seven Springs, PA, Loon Mountain, NH and Boreal, CA there are more than enough features to play on and photographers to get the shot. The day started with...
