Six years of Shayboarder

Six years ago I sat in front of my computer writing my introduction to the World of Snowboarding on shayboarder.com. It began with a blog post, zero views and no expectations on where it would go or lead me. I never expected that shayboarder.com would change my life, lead me to amazing experiences or make an impact on snowboarding. But now I can look back on this journey and say how incredibly lucky I have been. I ma...

A Weekend in Wyoming

When it came time to pick a location for a weekend getaway with my mom, Wyoming was a big contender with the abundance of parks, activities, rest, relaxation and breathtaking scenery. We started our journey to Wyoming on Thursday, taking our time with stops and staying overnight just a couple hours away from our final destination. On Friday's drive, we finally were rewarded with the views of the Grand Tetons as we...

Whistler Birthday Celebration + Bike Park 6/12/13

All I wanted for my 30th birthday was laps in the Whistler bike park, good friends, a visit to the spa and sushi dinner. Whatever else was just a bonus to a fun day! The best part - I got everything I wanted for my birthday. We started the morning with a ride up Whistler Mountain so we could check out the Peak to Peak gondola. I had ridden it many times in the winter but it was fun to check it out in the summer. The...

Whistler Bike Park 6/11/13

When it came time to figure out where I wanted to spend my 30th birthday, it was an easy decision. I opted for a dirty thirty celebration in the actual dirt at Whistler Bike Park for a couple days to ring in the big day. It offered a chance to ride terrain I had accomplished previously and master new terrain when I reached the ripe age of 30. We arrived into Whistler on Monday June 10, ready to start the celebrati...

Moab, Utah offered up the camping, hiking, biking and heat without traveling too far to get it. Plus it was a far enough, it seemed like a mini vacation on its own. We loaded up the truck with our bikes and arrived late on Friday to find a camping spot. It was just us girls (Rachel and ...

The mountains we love…

For many of us, the mountains are our homes, our playgrounds and our lives. Unfortunately, the mountains we love can take us at any moment. For the second time in my life, the mountains have taken an incredible person who shared a passion for snowsports, the industry and everyone around them. I'm at a loss. It's heart breaking. It's unfortunate. Rest in Peace Joe Timlin [singlepic id=14886 w=500 h=375 float=center]...

Goggle Review: Anon M1
