Timberline 6/5/10

June 5th, 2010

It’s been a rainy past week in Oregon but today the sun came out full scale for a great day on the mountain. I woke up at 9am, got my gear together quickly and headed up to the mountain with Johnny from camp.  A bunch of the staff was up shredding since today was [...]

Timberline & Windells 6/3/10

June 3rd, 2010

I arrived at Mt Hood, Oregon a couple days ago to get acclimated to camp life before the first session of summer snowboard camp will begin at Windells.  I had talked to Tim a couple months ago about coming out to camp, helping with blogging and being here as  shayboarder to write about the rad [...]

Shay Update: Roadtrip!

March 12th, 2010

Every couple years I enjoy a good road trip because it allows me to visit a bunch of people on one trip but also it lets me really think about my life.  I could lie on a beach in Hawaii drinking Corona but that never has the same effect as being forced to endure long [...]

August 17th, 2009

Located in the heart of downtown Portland, Holden Outerwear doesn’t blend into the surroundings on the mountains with a easy to spot style of outerwear.  With pro shredder Mikey LeBlanc in charge, the company continues to break out designs, colors and styles that riders want more of each season.  I stopped by their offices in [...]

Early morning lines at Palmer

We spent the morning back on the dance box [...]

Windell’s Camp: Day 5

August 9th, 2009

Enjoyed a good BBQ at Kaiser’s last night for good grub, beer and horseshoes that didn’t keep me up too late.  It felt really good to get a good nights sleep last night and be up early again for on snow at Windell’s Camp.
Today was the first day of the last session at HCSC so [...]

Windell’s Camp: Day 4

August 8th, 2009

Despite a late night Sushi dinner with all the adult campers, today was the 3rd day on snow at Windell’s Camp.  It was also the first bluebird day of the camp for us with hotter temperatures than expected.  I did come back with a red lower half of the face, not a bad burn but [...]

Windell’s Camp: Day 2

August 6th, 2009

Arrived at Windell’s Camp yesterday, slept great last night in my bunk bed and woke up early today for the first day on snow.  We have 24 adult campers, split into 3 groups with 3 coaches for the entire camp.  I’m in the intermediate group, with a good mix of riders working on their rail [...]
