thanks… i get your apprehension with the name. its not for everyone. but i think us girls have to stick together in the industry and give everything a fair shot.
love the blog and keep up the good work!
]]>Good to hear your opinion. I have my opinion as well and have the board in my possession which I will pass onto a future female rider. It is good to see the quality become better because without it, in this market it wouldn’t last.
I think there are better ways to increase women in the sport than calling them bitches. Just my personal opinion of the matter.
Regardless if you consider me a friend or not, still offering a opinion of a product and a friend is someone who won’t be biased. Just giving my honest interpretation of what I have experienced so far.
I have the board, have weighed it and definitely can ride it in the future before I pass it on. It’ll be reviewed this year.
]]>I am however! I know Alex and she’s great and what she is doing for snowboarding is great too- bringing more women to the sport is always a good thing, no matter what method. I’ve known the company since the beginning and the shitty boards (i think they had water drops on them) were US made boards if you can believe it! Alex has smartened up and taken them overseas and that’s why the construction is so much better! With any company, you learn from the mistakes. I’ve ridden the boards and they are great and I would recommend trying it this season.
Shey- i don’t know if you held the boards, but they are super lightweight. The very first thing I noticed! Which makes a mad diff for me on the mountain.
Just thought I’d give a different perspective and shed some truth on the situation. Gotta give the girl props for what she’s doing!
]]>Thanks anonymous, I have it I just don’t make it as easy to interpret…I’ll work on that for sure. Someone else will ride them than me having them sit around because of personal preferences.
]]>But Dude, how the fuck can you return NS boards? It’s just so… Haaa you made me cry!
]]>In terms of the construction, from the 06-07 board I rode to the board I have at home now…it’s better constructed for sure…the first one was done piss poorly, with the edge and you could see through the base and the core was actually off, like zig zagged. It’ll be interesting to ride this new one which does look better constructed. The base still looks weak…like a tree or stump would impact damage for sure…but I always wait to judge until I get on snow with it.
I think lady shreds will continue to pump out products made for women…it’s just seeing how well they are interpreted and how long they last. The industry doesn’t need steps back in the women’s market. I switched to women’s boards because it was finally going somewhere good…that was 10 years in the making of getting to that point.
]]>When I first saw this company the first thing I said was 'what kind of name is BitchBoards'.
I just can't picture anyone riding a BitchBoard… and now going off of your review, it would seem that they picked an awful name and designed a piss-poor product.
I'm guessing this will be the hello, and the goodbye for BitchBoards. It's too bad too, because lady shreds could certainly benefit from a snowboard company that did all of their R & D and product design specifically for girls.
