I’m not much for getting into detailed reviews but I can say that this board is my Burton Custom X killer. I used to have a custom X and sold it off. I’m way more wowed by this board. The only thing I liked on the custom X better was the wfo vision base. A good wax on the JDUB can negate that though. My experience on this board so far is only groomed runs and terrain park.
I can comment on the pop. It is very strong to me. The pop loads and release nicely off the lip to get you past the knuckle. Probably just as snappy as my previous custom X.
This board feels very stable at speed and performed very well for me on park kickers going strait air. I don’t know how to spin yet so I can’t comment. I was able to stomp 30+ foot kickers as a progressing park rider which I never felt comfortable doing before on my previous boards. The stability gives you feeling of safety to go bigger.
I feel like the magne traction give you some “middle edge” between the feet to work with when carving. I use to wash out on my old custom X and regular custom on speed runs all the time. The JDUB holds edge at blazing fast speeds and a simple effortless speed check can dump alot of speed and get you back into your comfort zone. I did feel it grab when I didnt want it too when conditions got very icy. It may be a whole different riding feel but you can get use to it after a few turns.
