Thank-you for remembering that October is also DV awareness month.  I work for a battered women&#039;s shelter Aurora, CO and one of the problems we often encounter is that so many people refuse to recognize that DV is an issue in their communities.  Local media outlets will go to breast cancer prevention, teen suicide awareness, or LGBT rallies but they never bother to attend DV events.  And that&#039;s one of the biggest parts of the problem- when people stay silent and pretend that DV doesn&#039;t exist, it sends a message to batterers that their behavior is somehow okay. So thank-you for telling people about DV awareness month, because acknowledging the problem is the first step to fixing it.

On a lighter note:  Loveland opens tomorrow!  I&#039;m so pumped!]]></description>
