Intended Purpose: The Pocket Rocket Rub-on wax is an all-temperature rub-on wax that you can carry with you on the slopes or keep by your board for those days when you forgot to wax your board but are going out to shred anyway. Smell: Pom Pom wins me over at the smell test, hands down the best smelling wax I’ve ever used. The rub-on wax smells like strawberry goodness and everyone I’ve had smell it is amazed it’s wax. Appearance: The “pocket rocket” rub-on wax really fits in your pocket, it comes in a easy to seal container that you can put in your pocket or shove in a backpack without worrying about it opening up on you. Ease of applying: I give props to Pom Pom for putting directions on the container and helping out those that might have never used rub-on wax. I found it easy to rub the wax on my board and in spots where I rubbed on more wax than needed, the buffer pad helped spread the wax around on the base and work it in the base better. Really easy to apply and be done for a quick ride session. Durability: I’ve been switching […]

Intended Purpose: The stealth earbuds are meant for listening to the tunes while snowboarding and not worrying about lower quality or tangled cords. The people behind Siege Audio are snowboarders and so it’s no surprise that these earbuds can be taken on and off the mountain. Sound: I’m no expert on sound quality but just a snowboarder who listens to music when riding. Compared to my skullcandy headphones the sound is better and clearer. My one complaint is that the earbud really is good at knocking out sound as well, which means when I’m on the mountain I tend to only put in one earbud so I can hear outside sounds better. When I’m at work or working out, it’s easy to put in both earbuds and totally zone out from my surroundings. Appearance: The stealth earbuds come in multiple colors, I have the plain grey ones with black earbuds and no complaints on the appearance. The cord is woven nylon and so far that hasn’t been an issue in cold temperatures or bothering me on the mountain. Ear Fit: I have a hard time sticking earbuds into my ears and expecting them to stay all day long without hurting […]

Intended Purpose: The Wacky Tacky Taction wax is meant to be applied on your topsheet for no-slip when you are skating off the chairlift or when you need extra grip on your freestyle grabs. I tested it with the chairlift, putting it in on my board in the spot where I put my free foot when riding off the chairlift. My Capita Ultrafear topsheet can be a little slick and I figured this would be a good time to try it out. Smell: It was the first thing I noticed when I opened it, it smelled so good you just wanted to eat it. Luckily I didn’t and the strawberry smell is still present when I rub my finger over the wax on the topsheet, days after riding it. Appearance: The Wacky Tacky Traction wax comes in a easy container that can fit in most things, I’ve taken it with me snowboarding and easy to open, grab the wax and close it so it doesn’t get into my other items in my backpack. Ease of applying: The first thing I did was look at the directions on the can which said to make sure the topsheet was dry and clean, […]

Intended Purpose: The High Sierra single padded snowboard bag is ideal for a riders first snowboard bag to fit their one setup for the snowboard trip once or a twice a year. I travel a good amount during the season, so having a wheeled snowboard bag with multiple compartments benefits me more. Size: The single padded snowboard bag holds up to 170cm which I found ideal for my snowboard sizes since they are below 160cm. The description says one snowboard but I was able to carry two snowboards without bindings in the board bag and probably could have done three snowboards. Appearance: I like blue so the appearance of the single padded in blue is my favorite, it’s clean and simple. It is better than black but it’s not a crazy original print that will stand out if you fly with other snowboard bags. Ease of Travel: The best part of this bag is something I struggle with my wheelie locker, being below 50lbs when flying. With the lightness of this bag and enough space for your gear you’ll easily be under 50lbs. The shoulder straps help for carrying the board when traveling but for walking alot with it, having […]
