Location: Colorado, Whistler/Blackcomb, Utah, Washington Snow Conditions: Powder to hardpacked to slushy days, a good mixture of variety of conditions throughout this season. Setup: I rode the Never Summer Lotus-R with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: I had two first impressions, I took some pipe runs with it at Breck on the first day and it was decent. Then I took it to Keystone for night riding where it drove me nuts, it was too grippy and I didn’t like how it was riding. I think I even said I hated it at the time, first impression on testing the board and then the next day I got used to it and now it’s my main snowboard. Size: 157cm Weight: average to a little heavier than average. Flex: Since it’s the womens premier F1, it’s noticeablye softer than the men’s version but still offers a more aggressive ride for women. Softer nose to keep it afloat and stiffer tail for powder riding, underfoot it’s a midflex making it easy to initiate turns and still a stable ride. With the RC technology, you get some fun play from the rocker in the center and the camber […]

With SIA approaching, I figured I’d give a heads up on what is coming up for Never Summer. I have been checking out the catalog and there’s some changes that I’m sure you would like to know about. RC Technology for 2009-2010 Never Summer’s RC technology did very well this year and obviously for 2009-2010 it is expanded into more of the Never Summer line. This means if you don’t like RC technology, I’d suggest buying up older models of Never Summers now. If you do like RC technology, you can now see it in every board model except the Titan. New for 2009-2010 Say goodbye to the System and welcome in the Circuit-R to the line up. Circuit-R and Pandora-R will be the only two boards in the lineup with 1 year warranties. The rest of the boards will have Never Summer’s 3 -year warranty. Graphics I’m not one to judge graphics but I have put out an image of the Lotus already for 2009-2010 and the graphics for the other board lines keep with the NS look and there’s a couple surprises, the circuit-R to me doesn’t look like an NS. Stay tuned for SIA next week!

I was in Denver on friday to visit the Boa Headquarters (tour, video and write up coming soon!) and to stop by Never Summer to pick up a snowboard and check out the 09-10 line. I left Denver and headed to Breckenridge to spend the afternoon riding halfpipe before going to Keystone for night riding. Never Summer 2009-2010 Lotus It was a beautiful day at Breck for afternoon riding, bluebird with not many people on the mountain. I just lapped the superpipe. The Breckenridge superpipe is awesome, they take really good care of it and it shows. I rode up the chair with a girl and we ended up riding pipe together for the afternoon. On the last run, she took a bad drop into the pipe and ended up crashing pretty hard. I ended the day with her to make sure she could get down to the base fine since her wrists were hurting and she was dizzy. I met up with my buddy K after riding Breckenridge and we headed to Keystone to meet up with friends for night riding. This was my first time night riding in Colorado. When I lived in Washington I […]
