It was the last day for snowboarding at Windell’s camp but definitely the most fun and progressive day for me once we hit the slopes. A couple warm up runs from top to bottom just making turns and getting the muscles working again. Early morning lines at Palmer [singlepic id=6012 w=400 h=300 float=] We spent the morning back on the dance box (seriously the most fun feature) to just play with tricks. I ended up working on half cab to 50/50 on the box. Sessioning Red Bull Dance Box – Half Cab 50/50 from Shayboarder on Vimeo. But I also worked on a variety of tricks including… Tail press [singlepic id=6013 w=400 h=300 float=] Boardslides [singlepic id=6014 w=400 h=300 float=] Yeah the opposite of MJ, JJ? [singlepic id=6015 w=400 h=300 float=] After the dance box, I graduated onto my first ollie on box at camp. Got the nerve up to finally hit it. I have footage of it, which I’ll be adding later. I worked on just riding till the end of it, and ended up with a tail press on the box. The photo was early but it’s my ollie onto the rail for the first time [singlepic id=6017 […]

Despite a late night Sushi dinner with all the adult campers, today was the 3rd day on snow at Windell’s Camp. It was also the first bluebird day of the camp for us with hotter temperatures than expected. I did come back with a red lower half of the face, not a bad burn but definitely more sun than expected with 30 SPF. Reed is the head coach here at Windell’s and he also runs Ink Monstr who makes my shayboarder stickers. Here’s him about to eat my face. [singlepic id=5995 w=400 h=300 float=] Riding the chairlift, boots dangling above rocks and dirt. [singlepic id=5982 w=400 h=300 float=] Rie and myself on the chairlift [singlepic id=5990 w=400 h=300 float=] The morning warm-up was a couple laps down Palmer and a lap through the public pipe where I ran into Steph out visiting from Park City. [singlepic id=5989 w=400 h=300 float=] Then we headed to the Windell’s park and dropped off our bags on the way to the halfpipe. The new tow rope has been next to the jump line making lapping the jumps super easy and a popular choice. [singlepic id=5983 w=400 h=300 float=] I opted to ride the Infinity-R […]
