Location: Steamboat & Copper, CO Snow Conditions: Mixture of hardpacked to slushy groomers. Setup: I rode the Arbor Cadence with my Union bastardized bindings and Vans Veil Boots size 8. Size: 151cm. First Impression: The park system suits the Cadence perfectly Weight: average Flex: The park system definitely makes the cadence a more fun park specific ride than last year, it’s still a medium flex longitudinally not a noodle but not stiff either. The added rocker makes it easier to press/butter the mountain up with. The cadence has a softer torsional flex between the bindings so easy for turn initation and quick response edge to edge. The cadence features the park system which has parabolic rocker which has more rocker in the center of the board and decreases the rocker to the tip and tail of the board. Turning: It’s really easy to get the cadence on edge and once on edge, allowing for really quick short radius turn response on the mountain. I like that the tri-radial sidecut gives you different options for turns, you can get the quick arc turn or lay it out longer down the hill. The cadence has griptech which adds contact points near […]

I took the last two days off to get back into the swing of things but the snow definitely called me today with bluebird skies and what looked to be a great day for park. I know I’m riding park a lot this year, but man I am addicted! While I was gone last week, the 10-11 Cadence arrived at my house for some reviewing but it had to wait till today to hit the snow. I definitely appreciate the days when I can take a board out for multiple days to really see how it handles when it comes to review time. Next year’s cadence has the park system and grip tech, first time for both of those and my union highback arrived so I’m not riding on a busted highback anymore which made today even better! [singlepic id=8390 w=300 h=400 float=] Since it’s late season in Steamboat, the lower mountain where the park and pipe is means a slushfest and I find that it requires more skill. The pipe today was rideable on one wall (my bad wall) but that forced me to do better than normal since it was all I hit. After seeing the shape it […]

This review was done through Board Insiders and will be featured on their site as a review with video of me explaining the board and riding it. I’ll update this link to that when it goes live. Location: Stevens Pass, WA Snow Conditions: Snowing with powder on runs, some groomed areas. Setup: I rode the Arbor Cadence with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: This is my kind of women’s board for the entire mountain Size: 155cm Weight: average Flex: The cadence was a medium stiffness board, a good middle of the road between soft and stiffness. As an all mountain board it was riding on the stiffer side of that. The nose was a bit softer but a stiffer tail allowed it to handle powder turns with my weight in the rear. Between the bindings it was torsionally softer, easy to initiate the board into turns and get quick response. Turning: The cadence has a tri-radial sidecut which I found great once on groomers for easy carving and turn initiation. I could make really quick short radius turns without worrying about the board not handling them. I thought it handled best for carving and freeriding, definitely […]
