The Backyard Bang Rail Jam arrived in Colorado on Saturday giving downtown Denver a chance to watch an urban rail jam with plenty of local riders showing their skills. It was quite an impressive gathering for a Saturday when many snowboarders could be up enjoying the snow on the local mountains but stayed outdoors to watch better athletes huck themselves for our entertainment. [singlepic id=6806 w=267 h=400 float=] The day began at 10am for me as I made my way to the event, watched riders check in and enjoyed some hanging out time as the snow was brought in to complete the features. Riders checking in for their bibs, there were 3 heats of riders competing and a good chunk of known names and unfamiliar names in snowboarding. [singlepic id=6810 w=400 h=267 float=] There were four features at the Backyard Bang: A Rainbow down box, down box, down flat down rail and at the very bottom was a stall/handplant feature made out of an A for the Art Institute. [singlepic id=6800 w=400 h=267 float=] The stall/handplant feature had some interesting moments with riders [singlepic id=6798 w=400 h=267 float=] During the practices, I watched the riders hit features at the same […]

The Backyard Bang Rail Jam arrives in Denver this Saturday for it’s first time hitting the mile high city so to celebrate the first Backyard Bang Rail Jam in Denver, Salomon Snowboards and Shayboarder.com are holding a scavenger hunt for your chance to win a Salomon Salvatore Sanchez on Saturday. You’ll need to meet a Salomon Pro, Tweet about it and stop by the Salomon Booth to get the final clue that gives you instructions on tracking me down and what to say that wins you the board! But at the end of the clues, you could find me standing there with a brand new Salomon to make you a winner without ever having to hit one of the rails. [singlepic id=6776 w=466 h=754 float=] The Backyard Bang and Scavenger Hunt begins at 11am on Saturday, November 21st in Denver. The Backyard Bang is at the Art Institute of Colorado and the entire Salomon Pro Team will be there. For more information, go here. If you have any questions, ask them here in the comments or on twitter. I look forward to seeing you at the Backyard Bang this weekend!
