This review was done through Board Insiders and will be featured on their site as a review with video of me explaining the board and riding it. I’ll update this link to that when it goes live. Location: Stevens Pass, Washington Snow Conditions: Snowing with powder on runs, some groomed areas. Setup: I rode the Bataleon Evil Twin with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: Fun board to play around with, inside the park. Size: 151cm Weight: lighter than average Flex: At first I thought it was stiffer overall but then I found the stiffness was in the nose and tail with some softer forgiveness in the center between the bindings, making it torsionally quick to turn and responsive. Even with the stiffer nose and tail, it’s still capable of butters and presses. I was riding a smaller size and I felt with that size that it was best to ride in the park. I did notice is going around bumps was the best on the evil twin, going directly over bumps was a little too much for the board and it didn’t handle as well. Turning: The TBT on Bataleon’s makes it really easy to […]

Location: Whistler, BC Snow Conditions: Bluebird to overcast on hardpacked snow and ice in spots. Most of the morning was icy spots. Setup: I rode the Bataleon Riot with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: TBT is like a carvers dream Size: 155cm Weight: average Flex: Stiffer nose and tail with just a tad softer between the bindings on the Riot, making it less easier to press and butter but overall more stable for all mountain riding. In the second picture below I showed how much I could tail press the Riot on flat ground and that was putting a lot of effort into, to getting that much off the ground. For a true twin park-all mountain board, it’s on the stiff side definitely a jump more suited to pipe, jumps and freeriding in between than jibbing or easy butters on the mountain. Turning: I can’t deny how well this board excelled at turning and TBT really excels overall. The board has a mind of it’s own when it comes to turn and you can rally a carve on the mountain each turn without trying. I occasionally take photos of lines that a board will make […]

Location: Keystone, Colorado Snow Conditions: Bluebird with hardpacked groomers. Setup: I rode the Bataleon Enemy with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: TBT is not anything close to reverse camber, two different technologies. Size: 157cm Weight: lighter than average Flex: The overall flex for the enemy is stiff throughout the board, stiffer longitudinally and torsionally. It’s not as easy to manuever into shorter turns because of the stiffer flex but it makes it a really good aggressive board on the mountain with how it handles. Not as playful as some other TBT boards I’ve ridden. Because of the concave nose and tail, it’s still able to butter with the stiffer flex and you won’t catch the edge doing it. Turning: Because of the lifted edges with the TBT, it’s really easy to be on edge before you even try. TBT boards because of how they are made have always been boards that go on edge, whether you like it or not. Once on edge, they really hold that edge in the turn and I’ve noticed that it’s harder to skid out a turn or wash out on a TBT board. The enemy was stiffer flex which […]
