The Love for the Ladies Rail Jam went off at Beaver Creek yesterday so I headed down from Steamboat to check it out. It was also my first time to Beaver Creek which has been a must-go-to resort this year since my pass is good for a couple days there. Luckily I knew Lauren was competing in the rail jam so it gave me an excuse to hit up the mountain. Of all the rail jams this year, the Love for the Ladies had a really fun contest, as a team coed ski/snowboard competition it meant fun on the rails for a good cause and costumes that were hilarious! Each team had 3 people (ski or snowboard) and had to have one lady in the competition. The Love for the Ladies rail jam helps raise money for the Vail Breast Cancer awareness group so each team tried to get donations and paid to enter the contest which also supports breast cancer awareness. [singlepic id=8470 w=400 h=267 float=] Each team could drop in at one time on two lines of features or go for the same line of features. It made for a very active watching contest but also hard to […]

If you are in Colorado and remotely near Beaver Creek this Friday, come and help support everyone’s favorite mountain peaks: breasts. Men love them, women are amazed by what they do and through Boarding for Breast Cancer we can help support them. The ladies of Retreat Yourself are having a B4BC Fundraiser in Beaver Creek. A sliding scale donation of $40 at the door (basically the cost of One Victoria’s Secret bra? gets food, open bar and a mix of mini services like reflexology, mini facials or palm readings. The silent auction includes some amazing snowboard companies are up for grabs and helps B4BC. [singlepic id=7365 w=600 h=779 float=] I’ll be making my way down from Steamboat to help support the event and cause so I hope you can make it!

A couple weeks ago I received an invite to come to a BBQ before the Absinthe premiere in Beaver Creek and since then I’ve been counting down the days till yesterday. I made the trek down to Vail/Beaver Creek to attend a YES BBQ at DCP’s house and check out the Absinthe Neverland premiere in Beaver Creek. It was great to carpool down with Philip from the Click and his friend Jerry. The BBQ had plenty of drinks, beer and food for everyone. There were a variety of local industry and shop people there to check out the YES line, talk snowboarding with DCP and the Absinthe crew. Huge thanks to Joe for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to talk with DCP, Dan Brisse and Justin Hostynek in such a chill environment. It was great to meet everyone and just talk snowboarding. [singlepic id=6377 w=400 h=267 float=] Two YES boards were on hand to check out, the green 154cm was the giveaway board at the premiere later that evening. [singlepic id=6378 w=300 h=450 float=] One of the highlights among many at the BBQ was meeting DCP’s wife, Megan Pischke Porcheron and discussing her venture the “Retreat Yourself” women’s […]

The Absinthe Films Sphere of Influence tour has been making it’s way around the globe to give snowboarders the opportunity to see their newest film Neverland on the big screen. Now it’s time for Colorado to get the pleasure of seeing Neverland up close and personal. This weekend are the big premieres in Fort Collins on Thursday night, Beaver Creek on Friday night and ending with Denver on Saturday night with rider appearances at each premiere and giveaways! I’ll be making my way down to Beaver Creek on Friday to enjoy a pre-premiere BBQ (life as a snowboard blogger has it’s perks and this is one of them, watch for twitter updates on Friday), then to the Beaver Creek premiere with friends to watch the film and end the night with the Afterparty at Loaded Joe’s in Avon. That’s only Friday! Then Saturday I’ll be in Denver to hit up the Absinthe premiere for a second time with friends. Two days of premieres and all the fun involved. I certainly hope to see you guys there, I’ll have shayboarder stickers on hand so come say hi if you see me at the premieres.
