Earlier this summer I was at work talking with a co-worker about my blog when she received an email that told her she gets a free snowboard, really surprised by it at the time. She told me she gets emails from Bitchboards and that’s who is giving her this snowboard. Needless to say, when I checked my own emails later I had the same “you get a free” snowboard email. I can’t really turn down a free snowboard either…I mean it’s free. I figured even if I wouldn’t keep it or just ride it for review purposes that I’d take the board cause I know of a couple girls who might want it. In the end it wasn’t really free, it cost $15.00 to ship…so even still $15.00 for a snowboard, sure…send it my way.Well it arrived yesterday in the size I requested which is a size smaller than I would normally ride, but I figure the smaller size is great cause Steve’s girlfriend who wants to learn to shred this year. I think I got a pretty good trade, Steve doing my artwork and designs for this blog for a whole setup for his girlfriend to ride with, basically […]

This year at SIA, Bitchboards was there showing off their snowboards. Ran by Alex Masterson, the women’s snowboards feature the “Bitch” and mix of artistic design in graphics. A lot of the graphic elements are cool how she gets the photos and most of them are just another way to visualize a simple element like leaves or food coloring. Last year I had the opportunity to ride a Bitchboard and definitely some work has been done on them in terms of new manufacturer and changing the construction up. The boards look better quality as well. Definitely some women out there (I’m not one of them) look for a board by graphics…so Alex has a good eye and understands this. Here is the Bitchboard Catalog

So SIA started yesterday, Tuesday January 29th but I didn’t make it into Vegas until late last night. Luckily for me the weather cleared up and guaranteed that I could make it to Denver. Tom dropped me off at DIA just in time to catch a late flight to Vegas. It was a pretty tiring night so when I got to Vegas, checked into my hotel room and passed out before midnight. This morning started with just checking out friends who work for different companies and checking out the different gear for 2008-2009. Here are some Atomic pictures that I took while getting the scoop on the atomic gear coming out. Mike works for Atomic…he rocks and definitely looks ready to attack in this photo. This year I was stoked to see a couple companies that were attending SIA especially Spacecraft! Normally they just crash SIA stickering up love and joy throughout the tradeshow but this year it was just awesome to see them in a booth. Another company is Bitchboards, a girls up and coming brand. Last year Alex the owner sent out a board for me to review and give feedback on to apply to this years boards. […]
