I started Shayboarder.com in August 2007. In November 2009 shayboarder.com passed 1 million, in October 2010 it passed 2 million and now only 8 months later the 3 million mark has arrived! What an insane journey this blog has become. When I began writing, I never expected to become a leader in snowboard blogs and reviews. It’s an honor to have the respect of fellow snowboarders around the world coming to this website. And since I turned 28 yesterday, it’s also a great birthday present! [singlepic id=11910 w=500 h=71 float=] Thanks to everyone who has come to my website and read what I’ve written. I hope over the past years that you’ve found it useful and informational for snowboarding. Thank you all!

When I first hit 1 million last November it was a surprise but as I approached the 2 million mark I knew it was coming rapidly into reality. 2 million…what a number! 2010 has been a great year for shayboarder.com; it’s been a year of changes as I made the move from Colorado to Oregon to California but also that I continue to have amazing readers who follow my journeys. Thank you! [singlepic id=10075 w=800 h=94 float=] I am incredibly lucky to have everyone who reads this blog, you guys make all my adventures a realty and drive me to be a better snowboarder. By better I don’t mean a pro but someone who cares passionately about it and is willing to share/help in any way possible. I am very lucky to live in the mountains, work for great resorts and write about something I love. Somehow you guys enjoy it too! So thank you, to every reader who has found this blog…cheers to you!

I’ve been distracted the last couple weeks with daily life and traveling for the blog that I completely missed passing 1 million total visitors since I started this blog. Each day this blog gives me an outlet to express myself and a way to do something more with snowboarding through posts, reviews, interviews. At the end of the day I have this piece of work that I’m proud of, I can put on a resume when the time comes and I have met some great people because of this blog. [singlepic id=6696 w=600 h=120 float=] The most amazing part is that I’m an average rider who just happens to love snowboarding. Since I’ve hit the 1 million visitors mark, I think it’s the perfect time to do a snowboard giveaway that everyone can enjoy from around the world. I’ll figure out the logistics and announce it soon! Really this site is successful because I have amazing readers who I love to meet and communicate with. You guys make my days bright when they are gloomy and I really appreciate all the positive responses from everyone! Thank you! In the mean time, let me know how I can make this […]
