Last March I spent 3 days at Stevens Pass riding and reviewing snowboards for Board Insiders, a new snowboard review site that would launch this winter. They’ll be launching the site next month and I’m stoked to see the final finishes to their reviews make their way online. Their plans are to put up “one video review for every snowboard on the market” and give snowboarders a place to find reviews that they can relate to. The videos are starting to make their way up to the Board Insiders Youtube Channel and you can check out some of the boards in action. So far the Arbor Cadence, Ride DH2, Bataleon Fun Kink, Forum Scallwag, Nitro Runaway and GNU Riders Choice videos are up. I’ll keep you updated as the website launches and I’m stoked to see how the reviews come out from their side. Most of the boards I’ve ridden have been reviewed on my site but on there you can see them in action.

The last and final day of shredding at Stevens Pass for Board Insiders. 3 days of riding, 3 boards a day and a total of 9 reviews of 2009-2010 boards. The experience was amazing, riding my old mountain and riding with people from all different levels, experiences and styles. It’s been snowing non-stop since I came up to the mountains on Monday night and it’s been good on the mountain, really good! Today I rode the Signal Park Rocker, GNU Billy Goat, and Bataleon Evil Twin. Three very distinctly different boards and such a variety of riding styles for me. The Signal Park Rocker…wow it was too easy but fun…very fun. I stayed on the front of Stevens Pass which was fine since barely anyone was on the mountain, still some powder to enjoy and I got to ride a variety of boards. Charlie filming one of the riders coming down Still a lot of pow to enjoy! Stevens Pass Top Phlight Terrain Park makes sure you sign a liability, watch a video and get a $5 pass or day pass before entering in the terrain park. I had been riding through the park since Sunday […]

I’m still on Colorado time, which means I go to bed early and I wake up early for Washington. I’ve been lucky to stay in Skykomish, just down the road from where Johan has a cabin and I could poach his kids Skull Mountain Terrain Park but the WA snow is definitely pushing my riding enough. Made it up back up to Stevens Pass for day 2 of Board Insiders testing. I never check the snow report but I can tell you it was good, better than yesterday with the snowfall. Upon arrival in the morning, the sun tried to come out but it ended up being a snowy kind of day instead. Lars the man behind Board Insiders chucking snowballs in the morning Our first run of the day was to find and enjoy the powder so we hiked up to get to the best snow. It was a hike and while it wasn’t so much the hike that got me it was the hiking along a steep ridge and my fears of falling down steep ridge. I’m not so good with narrow trails and I have my own fears of falling that come into play. Luckily one […]

The big reason I came out to Washington was to come join the Board Insiders team for reviewing some boards. Board Insiders is a new website coming out that features board reviews and videos of each board by riders you get to know. I joined in a couple months ago and at SIA met the crew in person and committed to coming out for it. I am here for 3 days on snow at Stevens Pass to demo the 09-10 boards with a crew of other riders. I’m on limited internet access so be patient with me returning comments and emails until Thursday night. The best news was last night it finally started to snow in the Northwest and today by the time we hit up Stevens it was dumping on the mountain and no one was here! Today was the first day, finally meeting everyone involved and getting to check out the boards. As a female rider for Board Insiders I kept to women’s specific boards to give my input on them. I rode the Ride Compact, Arbor Cadence and Roxy Envi today on the mountain. So I gotta say, I’ve been spoiled in Colorado. Blue skies, […]
