This review was done through Board Insiders and will be featured on their site as a review with video of me explaining the board and riding it. I’ll update this link to that when it goes live. Location: Stevens Pass, Washington Snow Conditions: Snowing with powder on runs, some groomed areas. Setup: I rode the GNU Billy Goat C2 BTX with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: Wow, take this board in a chute and you’ll win the banked slalom as well. Size: 162cm (this is the only size for 09-10). Weight: heavier than average Flex: It’s meant for freeriding, being stable and going fast. The flex is stiff longitudinally, stiffer nose and the tail is a little bit softer but by all means it’s a stiff board and it’s the stiffest board in GNU’s line up. I did try to tail press and got it an inch off the ground but it wasn’t easy. The C2 technology gives a more freeride take to the btx, between rocker and camber you have a more stable feeling, less loose feeling and rideable for freeriders. Turning: The sidecut says a lot about this board, but also it’s quick […]

Location: Keystone, Colorado Snow Conditions: Bluebird with hardpacked groomers. Setup: I rode the GNU B-PRO C2 with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: I liked this ride a lot better than when I rode the dark with C2, I think the detuning improved it for me a lot more. Size: 152cm Weight: lighter than average Flex: It felt like a stiffer board than last years, but just a tad stiffer and more torsionally. I still wouldn’t classify it as a stiff women’s board, it’s on the high end of medium flex. I found it still easy to press the tail of the board and with the stiffer nose it made it a really stable ride when going through chop and charging, never noticed the nose being unstable. Over the really bumpy, bad crud I noticed it wasn’t as stable but that was the only time I encountered that. Turning: Despite it being the B-pro, Barrett Christy pro model it’s an easier ride than it seems especially when turning. Easy to initiate turns and it’s stable during long radius turns but you can still really carve it into shorter turns with no issues. The magne traction helps […]

Location: Keystone, Colorado Snow Conditions: Bluebird with hardpacked groomers. Setup: I rode the Lib Tech Dark C2 with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: Lib’s C2 is not Never Summer’s RC, I’ve spent enough time on Never Summer’s to know that this board’s camber/banana is different. Size: 158cm Weight: heavier than average Flex: Overall stiffer torsionally and longitudinally making it super stable to ride and charge with. It to me is no longer a park board, this is a freeride board. I found it a lot harder to tail press than I used to with the Dark BTX. Turning: It has the og throttle 3D power risers which I don’t really need to elevate myself off the board, I noticed it took me longer to go on edge than I was expecting. On the really long drawn out turns it was the best, shorter radius were harder for me to lay over on edge and get the quick response but the long S turns were butter. Once I was on edge, it held throughout each turn and could just lay it over. You can actually watch me ride the Lib Tech Dark C2 in this video […]
