Location: Steamboat, Colorado Snow Conditions: Variety of snow conditions, some powder to hardpacked groomers to slushy snow. Setup: I rode the Capita Midnight with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: Another women’s board to add to the list of impressive women’s charging boards. Size: 154cm Weight: light Flex: The midnight is stiffer from tip to tail, making it excellent for freeriding. A charging board for women but still manueverable, good torsional flex making it fine for turning quickly, stable on long radius turns and overall another women’s freeride board. Turning: I didn’t need any adjustment when getting on the midnight and turning with it, it was an easy board to initiate and if you wanted the more aggressive turning, the sidecut would allow it as each carve would pick up speed and really let you arc out each turn. In this video I’m riding the Midnight all day, through groomers to heavy set powder. In the slushy terrain, it did surprisingly good. Stable: On the groomers it was stable, in heavy powder it was stable and the slight taper helped with remaining afloat. The only place I didn’t feel stable was on bumps for me, I […]

What a difference from when I left Colorado, to Washington riding to back home to Colorado with the change in snow. Luckily for me my Washington trip offered up fresh snowfall when I was there but when I came back to Colorado the sun had been hitting the mountains with a warm spell. I finally made it out on the slopes today with Steve after catching back on work. Trying out the 09-10 Capita Midnight on the slopes Review will come after a couple more days on it! We made our way to Sunshine to just play around, bomb runs and I used the easy terrain to mess with the midnight in how it turns. The snow since I left has really softened up, it’s spring conditions on the mountain right now. Sunny, warm (like hoodie, t-shirt warm) and slushy terrain especially on lower mountain. Steve and I rode through the boardercross course which was moved from the Terrain Park to the area just off the South Peak chairlift. It was our first time checking it out and it was a good spot and good conditions to just cruise through. I caught some video of Steve going through and got […]
