Intended Purpose: The APXs goggle is designed off of the Dragon APX but in a smaller frame option for those wanting the Infinity Lens Technology (full peripheral vision and easy interchangeability). Location: I wore the goggles at the Winter Park, Colorado on-snow. Conditions: Mix of sunny bluebird to overcast flat light on the mountain. Color: I rode the APXs goggle in the white design. I really like the simplicity of the goggle. The lens color matched well with the pink Dragon logo on the side of the strap and it was really just basic good looks. Small Dragon logos on the bottom of the goggle. Lens: I rode in the pink ionized lens color for the day (I used one of the brighter lens during the sunshine of the day but switched out to this for most of the day). It was really suitable for the cloudy/flat light conditions that were starting to occur on the mountain and I ended up spending the entire day in them. A tad enough blockage from the sun if you needed it but kept you totally visible on the snow ahead. Fit: This goggle definitely molded to my face and the entire length of […]

Dragon has been in the goggle game long enough to know performance, technical features and design elements matter. It doesn’t hurt that they’ve created a testing facility at 12,000 feet in the remote backcountry of Silverton. Their philosphy is smart design from the smart to finish and they’ve led the way with their advanced performance X series. For 2013, signature goggles include Gigi Ruf APXS and Rogue, Danny Davis Rogue, Leanne Pelosi Rogue, TJ Schiller Rogue, Simon Chamberlain D1XT and Wolle Nyvelt DX. The APX design has grown in 2012 to include the APX, APXs and the APX Glacier Glass. Dragon APX Features super anti-fog lens, polar tech micro fleece, optically correct lens, uni-directional flow, helmet compatible, 100% UV protection, infinity lens technology. Every APX goggle includes a custom APX hard care. Large fit size. Designs: Rasta, Coal, Powder, Jet, White, Jet Stealth, Native Print, Knightrider, Crevasse, Ice Fire, Snow Camo, Sunrise, Japan DAP.
Intended Purpose: The Dragon APX combines modern, minimalist design with an increased peripheral vision through Dragon’s frameless infinity lens technology. Location: I rode these goggles during day one of the SIA on-snow at Winter Park, CO. Conditions: I’ve spent the majority of time riding these on overcast flat light conditions. Color: I checked out the Dragon APX in the standard design with the black strap and white dragon logo on the strap. The goggles themselves are pretty basic on the strap, nothing flashy but the noticeable dragon logo. I liked the black strap and it worked for me since the goggle itself is noticeable from the lens and design more than the strap. Lens: We think I rode the blue ions lens at the on-snow (checked with Pash from Dragon to figure it out) and luckily for me the lenses held up great for the flat light conditions and made visibility a lot better. Fit: I wasn’t sure how the apx’s would do with fit on my face but the goggles actually were secure and fitting around my nose without having an extra space. They were a large peripheral fit and definitely a noticeably bigger goggle than the spy bias […]

Intended Purpose: The Dragon Rogue’s offer optical clarity for the mountain with pure comfort to make your mountain experience easily visible, comfortable and long lasting. Location: I started riding these at Winter Park in early February and kept riding them all season long mostly at Steamboat. Conditions: I’ve ridden with them on sunny bluebird days to overcast, to snowy conditions on the mountain. Color: I received the Rogue’s in the mythical panther frame model which are mostly black with a starry nights theme around most of the strap. At the very back of the strap are the dark panthers including some really sharp teeth. I like the overall starry night theme of the goggles with the dark colors and white mythical lights. Lens: I received two lenses to try out with the rogue’s, the pink ion lens for overcast days and the second lens is harder to identify which one it is. It’s a mirrored ionized lens so it helps block out the sun and gives a mirrored image when looking at the sun. Since CO gets a a lot of sunny days I’ve been rocking the latter lens the most on the mountain. Between the two lens, I have […]

Since I’ve been snowboarding, Dragon has always been there as a consistent leader among goggles on the mountains. With their signature logo that many wear on and off the mountain they remain true to who they are, what they support and continue with a steady stream of quality product from the snow to everyday use. Dragon was the second stop on day two as I made my way into Carlsbad, the home for many companies within snowboarding. With surfing and skating easily accessible, it was no surprise to see wetsuits lining each company’s parking lot that I visited during the visit. [singlepic id=6629 w=400 h=267 float=] Walking into Dragon Alliance, their typical office workplace was transformed into walls of art that took over the blank office space walls to greet you upon entry. Stacks of shred/surf/skate magazines were available for your glance as you waited to be taken upstairs to the offices.
