Earlier this week I wrote about the eesa sponsored Molly Rail Jam Fundraiser to raise money for a young girl fighting cancer and now Stephen Cleary, founder of eesa is offering up his hair for the cause. Quite frankly, he really needs it as I look at these photos. So here’s a chance to clean up Cleary and help someone in need. A few words from eesa about it: For the last few months here at the eesa office we’ve been pretty consumed with Molly’s kick-arse fight with the cooties. So much so that Cleary forgot to get a hair cut, and boy is it a mangy nest. He scheduled a proper haircut with the local beautician (maybe get a mani/pedi at the same time?) but we convinced him to put the professional clipping shears on hold, for a good cause of course. [singlepic id=7340 w=400 h=365 float=] Help us Shave Cleary! If we can raise $1,000 for the Little Miss Molly Foundation, then tomorrow night at the Little Miss Molly Rail Jam at Bolton Valley, Cleary will shave his head. Molly’s Dad Buck will shave the nest. It will be mind blowing. Paypal Donations: sales@eesaclothing.com Phone Donations: 802.244.7077 Mail […]

Shredding for a good cause is always a good time to shred, the good people over at eesa forwarded this onto me for an upcoming event to help a fight against cancer for a young girl. If you are near Bolton Valley, VT head out to support a good cause! It’s time to come out and shred the gnar for a good cause. Eesa’s New England Rep Buck Rowlee’s daughter Molly has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. So we’re pulling out all the stops in Molly’s courageous fight against cancer! Join us on Thursday March 26th at Bolton Valley Vermont for an evening of shredding, rail jamming and schwag giving. All benefits go directly to the Rowlee’s enormous expenses. If you can’t make it but still want to donate – please send a check made out to Blaine Rowlee ATTN: Little Miss Molly Fund: And mail to: eesa – Little Miss Molly FundPO Box 323Waterbury, VT 05676

When eesa came out onto the snowboard scene, it was more about filling a void and a need for a product. The void and need was filled thanks to Stephen Cleary and it proved to be popular. Eesa must have done something right because since then others have followed in their path and we all know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Eesa remains loyal to customers and continues to pump out products that don’t just look good but make you feel better on the mountain. For 2009-2010 eesa introduces 100% bamboo fiber to every sock, keeping you dry and comfortable whether it’s in the office or on the slopes. Another addition is the S.O.S (Save Our Socks) which lets consumers send in their old synthetic socks to be recycled and reduce them for other needs. I own eesa socks and they do a good job of keeping my feet warm and comfortable on the slopes. The Hops Socks Nothing goes better than a cold draft after a long day on the hill and nothing feels better than our Hops series socks on your feet while you unwind and relive the day by the fireplace. Stephen: Let’s see, I’m 6’2″ 185, fit, Sagittarius, married, three kids, live in Waterbury, Vermont and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in the world for the moment. Shay: What is your job title? Stephen: I am the President, CEO, and founder of eesa lux layering. However, my business card reads brand enabler. To be fair, my main focus is to oversee the eesa brand and make sure we are hitting on all fronts, web, media, product, riders, etc. I map out the short and long-term goals for the business while juggling all aspects of marketing, product, accounting and sales.Shay: Did your parents question your job choice? Stephen: Well, I have a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts – Design degree from the University of Massachusetts and I moved to NYC after graduation to work for an architectural firm. But the call of the mountain was too much and I decided to move back to Massachusetts to manage a couple shops while I bugged Burton to hire me.Shay: What was your first set up? Stephen: Whoa, that’s a tough one, I believe the first legit set-up […]

A little update on the world into eesa! A little while ago eesa’s team rider Tim Humphreys stopped by the offices here at eesa to do a photoshoot for the upcoming catalog. We paired Tim up with eesa’s new Arcade sock so what better place to do a photoshoot than an arcade? We ventured into Burlington to hit up Pizza Putt, the pictures can explain the rest of the story. After a while we ended up with a couple hundred tickets which was enough to get a rather large bag of Tootsie Rolls. We were stoked. Then we proceeded to play a few holes of mini golf. It was Agatha, Jules, and I against Tim. We won by a long shot. A big thanks to Tim for playing along all day and winning us that bag of Tootsie Rolls. -LAustin

Shay, we had the opportunity to spend time with our good friend and shred pal Patrick McCarthy a couple two-three weeks ago and here’s what went down! So we were rolling through Bellingham on our way from Hood to Whistler when we stopped by Patrick McCarthy’s house (we should say one of Patrick’s cribs – he’s quickly becoming a real estate mogul in the great Northwest). Not only was it Patrick’s birthday, but he had just finished editing his part in the Mack Dawg film Down With People AND he also was hellamperstokerfested on his new sig model from Option Snowboards. Could it get any better than this? We didn’t think so, until Patrick threw down the ‘you play croquet’ bait. Play it? We fucking own it (actually we were talking through our asses, but when someone challenges you to anything you step up and act like you invented the damn thing). So we rolled out to the backyard, where the most ridiculous croquet course was laid out. Normally, croquet fields are set-up in a fairly standard/regulation lay-out. Not this course, among the objects to navigate were a underused fire-pit/flower garden, we couldn’t tell what the hell it was, […]

So you think you know how to relax? Think again my friend. Apparently our good friend and pro-shred emeritus Lukas Huffman has takin’ chillaxin to the next level. In fact he took it so next-level he woke up with all his teeth smashed in. So how did it happen and what’s the story behind the story? Lukas dropped by the office since he was in town for some maxillofacial surgery on his busted grill and posted up at his parents in Montpelier for a recovery session (by the way, for all you useless information buffs, Montpelier is the only US capital without a McDonalds). So the story unfolds about 6-weeks ago when we got an e-mail from Luke offering to send us 600 copies of his radtacular book ir77, which if you haven’t scored yet is a must buy for a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a pro-snowboarder from the eyes of uh, pro-snow-board-er, ya. You can pick up ir77 at www.ir77book.com or wait for a signed copy this fall when we launch the 09 website. So, fast-forward to this week, books arrived no problem and the phone rings in the office, it’s Luke (who else would it be? […]
