Location: White Pass and Stevens Pass, WA Snow Conditions: Mostly softpacked slushy groomer laps in the spring. Setup: I rode the Endeavor Guerilla with Union Atlas Team bindings and Flow Luxe Coiler boots size 8. Size: 155cm First Impression: The Guerilla offers more all-mountain freestyle packed with multi-camber Weight: average. Flex: All-around on the medium flex of the scale. The Guerilla was ideal for all-mountain everything. Tad softer torsional for quick engagement and response, longitudinally medium of the range. It was consistent all around in the handling. The Guerilla has a traditional camber between the bindings for pop and a 3mm rise of reverse camber out to the contact points for fun, float in snow and hook free ride. Turning: Easy initiation into turns with the lift contact points. Once into the turn, you had the consistency to arc through the turn. Pretty easy board to ride, definitely more all-mountain handling. Stable: The spring slush conditions meant harder packed in the morning and really really soft slush in the afternoon. Most of the days were in the softer slush conditions where the board didn’t hook into the softer snow. A tad loose feeling on the speed hauling runs.
Location: Whistler, BC Snow Conditions: Hardpacked to softpacked groomers. Setup: I rode the Endeavor Color with Union Atlas Team bindings and Flow Luxe Coiler boots size 8. Size: 152cm First Impression: The Color is on the prowl with an aggressive streak and fun riding. Weight: average. Flex: The Color is built for freestyle riding, so overall it’s on the softer scale with a softer to mid-range flex. The tip to tail carbon stringers help stiffen it up and give it the more aggressive handling torsionally so that turns are responsive. The RC gives the nose and tail a bit more playfulness for buttering. It’s one of those park boards you can ride the whole mountain with and still ride boxes and rails. The Color is 3mm reverse camber with a subtle concave or arching profile that curves upward, reducing pressure on the contact points of the board. Turning: Just like the last time I rode the Color, it was quick engagement into turns on the mountain. It was the ideal board for Whistler conditions because the mountain was packed full of people that you had to avoid quickly. The sidecut is designed to be quick, aggressive and arcing turns on […]

Setup: I rode the Endeavor Diamond with Flux GM30 bindings and Vans Ferra boots size 8. Size: 152cm First Impression: Pretty damn good diamond for a girl to ride the mountain with. Weight: average. Flex: Longitudinally the Diamond varies, it’s stiffer towards the nose and tail which allow for more stability and the zero camber helps with that but it’s still consistent throughout the board in the handling. Torsionally you have quickness so you can get solid edge to edge response. I liked that this isn’t a stiff board for women, it’s still forgiving in the right spots but can handle the mountain riding. The Endeavor Diamond features a zero camber with DowTech and a flat kicked nose and tail. Basically the contact points are raised up so they don’t catch while riding. There is zero camber during the entire effective edge, until the flat kick on the nose and tail. Turning: Easy to engage onto edge with the catch free contact points and no catching throughout riding the board. It’s a consistent board in how it turns, it’s quickly engaging into the arc of […]

2013 marks the 10 year anniversary of Endeavor Snowboards and a year committed to the future. This Canadian snowboard company has continued to grow their brand and make their mark on snowboarding. Big steps have been taken for Endeavor in the past year. They’ve grown their office space to build the Archtype Snowboard Lab and continue to set their sights on the future of Endeavor. On my way back from Whistler, I cruised through Vancouver to stop into their office space and check out the lab that I’ve been hearing about. Located near the shipping docks and industrial offices, Endeavor stands out among the crowd of business places with their artwork giving away the building. I met up with Max Jenke for the late afternoon tour of Endeavor. A couple brands are inside the Endeavor Design Inc and the offices feature a showroom and photography studio for Scott Serfas. Scott just displayed his work at the Pro Photographer Showdown in Whistler during Telus Festival. The showroom for Airhole and Endeavor snowboards, bindings and luggage is right when you walk into the building. To start our tour, Max put his espresso skills to the test and created hot chocolates for his […]

10 years is quite an accomplishment but for Endeavor it’s only the beginning. They’ve had challenges, they’ve been tested and they’ve fought through it. Snowboarder owned and operated, Endeavor Snowboards is still closed on a powder day. They’ve taken their dreams to new levels with the Archetype Snowboard Lab for R&D, new ideas and the capabilities to make, test and validate new innovation. For 2013, Endeavor has a range of profiles for riders to choose from. The Super camber for stored energy, traditional camber for true performance, zero camber for the best of both worlds, reverse camber for a more fun ride and multi camber for fun float and a hook free ride. Endeavor New Standard Series Engineered fun. The first child of the Archetype R&D lab, the goal was simple: to create a completely new style of board that is stable yet loose, aggressive yet fun and soft yet poppy. Wider than the average deck, this board is designed to be ridden 3-4cm shorter than the typical board and the brand new DT2 technology will make sure that it will never hook an edge. Features zero camber w/DT2 and flat kicked nose and tail, poplar wood core, mid wide, […]

Location: Mammoth, CA Snow Conditions: Hardpacked to softpacked to icy groomers to powder. Setup: I rode the Endeavor BOD with Union Team bindings and Vans Veil Boots size 8. Size: 155cm. First Impression: Weight: Average Flex: Noticeably stiffer than the previous Endeavor boards I rode (Color and Boyfriend) and more aggressive than them. The B.O.D was stiffer longitudinally with a softer nose and tad stiffer tail to the board. The zero camber makes it feel more charging and less playful. I thought the B.O.D handled best on freeriding, steeps and jumps. The B.O.D has zero camber with wings. Basically the board is zero camber/flat to the contact points and then has “wings” that gives the board a reverse camber forgiveness on the contact points. Turning: There wasn’t any hooking or catchyness to the board but it could handle aggressive quick turns and rode really good on edge even on the longer drawn out turns. The stiffer flex helped it with stability on the mountain and on the steeps, it charged without getting that soft loose feeling. It rode more like a camber board than anything else which is good, it means it’s predictable but also smooth riding in each turn. First Impression: I could love this thing like a boyfriend on the mountain – it rips and doesn’t talk back. Weight: Lighter than average Flex: The Boyfriend was longitudinally more stable than torsionally, it had a softer torsional flex to it and all around the board was mid-flex for me. It wasn’t as soft as I was expecting it to be and it felt like I was riding a bigger board. The Boyfriend Series comes in regular camber and RC which is reverse camber from the middle of the inserts and then a flat area from the middle of the inserts to the contact points. I rode the regular camber version which helped for stability and traditional carving on the board. Turning: Really easy to engage into turns and effortless in turning. The sidecut was quick and definitely shorter turns were more comfortable on the Boyfriend. Stable: It never felt like I was riding a small board because it handled speed better than some […]

First Impression: Quick to rip and ready for jumps! Weight: Average Flex: I’ve been on the Color series before and it still kept the similar ride with some upgrades to it. The flex didn’t feel much different though the catalog say it went a tad stiffer (up one) since last year, it is still a freestyle board from the Endeavor line so the flex is softer to mid range. The tip to tail carbon stringers helped stiffen it up for cruising and the reverse camber on the board helped make it more playful. Torsionally quick and snappy between turns. For park, it’s perfect for jumps. The Color is reverse camber so it has reverse camber from the middle of the inserts and then a flat area from the middle of the inserts to past the contact points on the nose and tail. Turning: The first turns with the color were quick, very quick and aggressive. It was a good friendly reminder of what an aggressive sidecut can feel like on a board. I […]
